Product Description
The Dolphin DPS400 is a 4 recess mounting sensor system manufactured to fit a wide range of cars and look like original fit equipment. This kit has 4 sensors with a buzzer. The buzzer gives audible bleeps with increasing frequency as you get closer to an obstacle.
The unit is activated when reverse gear is selected. When the vehicle is less than 1.5 metres from the obstruction the audible alert will emit intermittent bleeps. As the vehicle gets closer to the obstruction the frequency of the bleeps increases. At 30 centimetres from the obstruction the bleeps become a continuous solid tone, warning you that you should stop the car.
The sensors are on cables just over 2m long and should cover the width of most vehicles but we do have extension leads if needed. You mount the brainbox in the rear of the car, traditionally in a side panel behind one of the rear light clusters, so the sensor cables do not have to run to the front of the car. You connect the brainbox up to the reversing light for its power supply. The buzzer is on a 2m cable length designed to be mounted in the boot area.
Available in 32 Colours
There are 32 coloured sensors in the range, the colours are baked on so will not crack as can happen with retro spraying. The sensors require a 21mm hole (cutter supplied in box) and have a 25mm outerface leaving a 2mm overlap.
Adjustable Brainbox
Our new adjustable brainbox means that you have full control over the detecting distance that your parking sensors have from your car. This is particularly useful for cars with low bumpers or bumpers that are angled at the ground. It is not normally necessary to play with this setting but gives some flexibility with fitting if needed.
Swap Socket Feature
The kit has a watertight swap socket feature based 6 inches from the sensor heads, it makes installation quicker and easier. Also should you ever have a problem with faulty sensors or accident damage in the future it facilitates easy replacement without having to rewire from scratch.

My garage fitted all 4 sensors at the rear of my Peugeot 108 as it’s a small car and not necessary at the front. They are extremely efficient and the colour is perfect. The beep is sufficiently loud. Highly recommended.

Tricky to fit but well worth it
I fitted these to a 2002 Honda CR-V. I canât say it was easy, but probably no more difficult than other similar products. I had to use the angled spacers/washers that come supplied because the bumper is angled upwards where they need to be fitted. Maybe because of this, the sensors arenât perfectly flush to the bumper, thereâs about 0.5mm gap in places. When you push them in, donât push the centre, push the surrounding ring.I tapped into the live feed of the reversing light as instructed, but tapped into an available earth wire rather than a metal body part.I canât understand why the power and earth leads are simple wires, meaning you should really strip the live to the reversing light and solder it in. I used Posi-Tap connectors which made it much simpler and results in less damage to the carâs wiring. In my opinion, Posi-Taps should be included in the box. I would recommend getting some if youâre taking this on.I would also recommend watching every YouTube video you can find on the subject, especially if you can find ones specific to your make and model of car.Iâm no auto electrician but I do have limited experience of messing about with motorbikes. Also my car isnât worth much, so the risk was low. If you have no experience of doing stuff like this, and/or your car is worth quite a bit, I would suggest finding a professional to do it for you, or at least a knowledgeable mate. It took me about 5 hours. The bumper had to come off, and most of the boot interior and trim (it may be easier on your car). Iâm cream crackered now!Bear in mind, there are lots of weird little plastic clips that hold bumpers and trims together, and they break if you force them or do it wrong.To be honest, the instructions arenât up to much. Theres more info and instructions on their website, and on the Amazon ad, than there is in the box. Do your research. Read and watch everything you can find. Then maybe get someone else to do it for you ;)Oh, they do work btw, so Iâm happy. Overall, good value.

Measure twice, cut once, plan your cable route, easy to install if you have good diy knowledge. Connect red wire to reverse lights with scotch lock or something similar.Tip- For a 20 plate Corsa, the live wire in Blue.
