A really good read and well structured but…
This book is very good, honestly. It starts off with the basics and slowly gets more complicated throughout. I also like that they talk about all the different mathematical equations you can use within your circuits, as you really feel like you’re learning a breadth of knowledge with minimal knowledge gaps that aren’t mentioned.My only gripe with the book is that all of the photos are really dark/underexposed and it makes it really hard to see what’s going on with the circuits sometimes. I understand that they may have done that in order to better illustrate the LED lights and that they are shining but making the photos as dark as they were felt really unnecessary.I didn’t want to dock the book down a star for that but if I had the option, I would have probably docked half a star.Definitely worth buying, though.

Brilliant front middle and back
Brilliant front middle and back. informative, educational and very interesting. A great reference guide as well and easy to understand. would prefer the hard copy over the kindle. (might even invest in one)

Good content but poor quality book
Most importantly, this book has useful content and is a good introduction to the subject. Based on content, 4.5 starsHowever, the copy I received is printed on low-quality paper and all the photos are grey scale. The product description states “Packed with hundreds of colorful diagrams and photographs” and the Kindle version does indeed have colour. I’m not sure this is a genuine Wiley book so am returning it.If the quality of the paper and photos matter to you then perhaps look elsewhere. If you just want the info, this book might fit the bill.

As others have noted, some of the pictures arenât very clear, but they are good enough to complete the circuits. Iâm only about 1/3 thru the book but find it very helpful with explaining the concepts.

I learned a lot from this, things I never knew about resistance and wattage and how a circuit works. I really just wanted to learn a little about electricity so Iâd be less afraid of working with it in my house. It even has little experiments you can do to show you how things work, you just have to buy some fairly inexpensive stuff. Itâs a little older because it recommends looking at Radio Shack for some of the items, but you can get everything on Amazon now. If youâre a layman like me, this is a good place to start learning. Worth the money.
