Does the Job
I spend several months 5000 miles away every year and wanted to control some devices in my flat and monitor what was going on remotely. To do this I ordered several “WIFI enabled” items . Now I have returned to my home I am writing a report how each one performed.I purchased this item to monitor the temperature in the roof space and control a small tube heater if the temp went below 7C. II did not need to use the “cooling aspect” but I can confirm that also works as one day the roof temp exceeded the setting for cooling and the app showed that it had switched the cooling socket on. The device itself worked perfectly, the app was a bit less perfect – It is a little confusing to set up and it would from time to time not link to the Elitech server but to be fair it would re-establish a link shortly after so I really had no problems.Elitech support was 5 stars.

Awful. No app available on android when it said it would be.
No app for this device on android when the product says there is. Even the manual says there is, but there isn’t. The apps that are there require Chinese characters to make an account and do not work with this device. Avoid.

Unfortunately it seems this maybe 2nd hand as it is already registered on the app and won’t allow me to access via wifi

Excellent + Works on Android*
Up and fully functional within an afternoon. Excellent build quality. Robust enclosure and substantial power leads (both input and output) – the only product I was comfortable controlling a 240V 2Kw heater (about 8.5A) without the leads getting hot. (Please note that (I think) for 120V supplies that 2Kw heater equates to over 16A – so only a 1Kw heater for you! just so you know). The Elitech is rated at up to a respectable max. 10A switching – really, that is a very good specification. Setting the ‘on’ and ‘off’ temperatures is NOT straight forward. (See page 2 of instructions) This device is primarily for ‘cooling’ refrigeration applications but can work just as well for ‘heating’ applications. The desired ‘heater ON’ temperature setting has to be set as a combination of “TS” (Temperature ‘Set Point’) MINUS the number entered for “HD” (Heating Differential) – e.g To get the heater to switch on at an air temperature +2℃ I have to set the “TS” as +4℃ AND the “HD” to +2℃ AND to keep it out of the equation also set the “CD” (Cooling Differential) to its maximum of +15℃ – but this works, and the heater reliably kicks in at 2℃ and I can also set a delay (if needed) as a buffer to prevent excessive switching in rapidly fluctuating temperature changes. In addition I could also set a cooling fan separately but I’m not sure what the succulents would make of that! The temperature sensor seems good quality and accurate, it has a generous 2 meter lead. I am not 100% certain but do not physically cut shorten the lead as it can form part of the sensor electrical circuit. The app. was readily available and installed and worked. It shows me live current temperature and ‘off’ and ‘on’ status. I can set and change ANY of the settings IN REAL TIME (Live) from my phone screen on the App. and set up ‘alarm’ notifications to SMS and even e-mail. It is not the App. you think you need, it is actually named the “Elitch iCloud” and NOT “Elitech Tools” You will need email access to register but this is free. I do note that if your phone appears not have a suitable version of android then nowadays the app. providers (“Google Play” etc) will not show the listing for that app. at all. My phone is not particularly new, it only has Android 7.0 (but it is a genuine version). The app. downloaded and worked fine. But I also not that some phone manufacturers tell you you have a certain version of Android in the specifications and in fact you don’t. To avoid ‘royalties’/’copyright’ issues you may have a much older version or hybrid (fake) version on your phone – I am not sure what Android version the Elitech App. requires. The Elitech works fine on my 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and has a good range. I do not know if 5GHz is supported, I think not. But most reasonable routers will be kicking out both frequencies anyhow. For commercial / business users – The App. provides Temperature Storage Traceability with current (live) and historical storage temperature data (daily, weekly, monthly?) all downloadable as files, i.e. provable inspection records. Anyone involved in commercial food storage or transport will know the importance (and usual costs) of this. All-in-all very happy with purchase and relieved that my heater wiring is no longer the fire hazard that it was previously.
