Great Quality and Reliable
As a long-time user of Eve products, Iâve always found their smart devices to be top-notch, and this Eve Door and Window Sensor is no exception. It integrates seamlessly with Apple Home and provides reliable notifications for open and closed states, giving me peace of mind about the security of my home. The Bluetooth/Thread connectivity works flawlessly, and the best part is thereâs no need for a bridge, making setup quick and easy. I love how I can automate my accessories and scenes based on the sensorâs state, adding convenience to my smart home.Eve has yet again impressed me with the quality and reliability of their products. Wow! Easy fit low cost HomeKit door or Window sensor.
These are just so simple and brilliant itâs incredible.Using with Apple HomeKit app.Easy to install, self adhesive stickers or screws Set up is about 5 mins per unit and works like a dream.Download the Apple HomeKit App, apply where you want it either on a door or window, or even a Garage Roller or normal up and over door. When the sensors are split you get a notification to with iPhone, iPad Apple Watch or even the iOS iPod I would think too.Iâve got one on the back door so if itâs opened during the night I have 2 bedside light that come on and the Apple HomePod mini comes on playing an alarm sound. So simple and so quick. Brilliant

Rock solid and dependable
Recently fitted and joined my thread network when the firmware was updated. The (free) Eve app is excellent. I was a little dubious about just sticking the sensor on the door, but it works perfectly as there is little weight to the product. It’s only a sensor, so you can decide what you want it to do. I can get a notification on my phone for open and close events. I can set times when I wish to receive those notifications, such as during the day when no-one should be home. It could be made to trigger other events, such as turn on a hall lamp when you enter.I only have one on the entrance to my apartment and It triggers pretty much instantly. That gives me peace of mind that all is well. I’ll add motion sensors when Eve launch the thread versions. The possibilities multiply when you add further products.

Very Good, but why not use standard batteries?
Very good sensor and works great in my Homekit ecosystem. Dropped a star though as the batteries are a strange half-size AA, which are very hard to find. Had 3 of these for about 7 months – one battery was dead after 3 months and another just died last week.Hopefully the next generation of these use AA, AAA or even CR2032 batteries which are more widely available to buy!

Very easy to set up
Set up in seconds. So far so good. Replacing a Meross sensor which was cheaper but rubbish. Original Meross sensor and 2 replacements failed very quickly. Arrived earlier than expected too.

Too complicated, lacking multi os integration.
Purchased 3 of these new matter compatible devices, it appeared to tick all the boxes with privacy and google home integration and it looked much nicer than any others I had seen. However I failed at the first step after opening the box, I’m an iphone user (with google home, smart things, Smartlife app’s) and all my home devices integrated with google and using nest mini’s and hub max, but after hours and hours of trying different permutations I realised there was no way to step this up without having to fork out more money to purchase either more apple or android devices to make it work. It’s a shame really, as I expected to set this up via Eve app and then add to google home like other devices, but no joy. Have returned back to Amazon in a hope that one day they will make it easier.

Does what it says on the tin!
As a tenant, I’ve had my fair share of landlords who like to turn up anannounced or let themselves in when I am out, this door/window sensor provides me with an extra layer of comfort knowing when my front door has been opened or closed whilst I am not in.It’s a small device that fits perfectly on the door and is super easy to set up and connect to my iPhone and Apple HomeKit system.

Reliable door sensor for Apple Home with option to upgrade to Matter
The door sensor is very reliable and connects to a home hub through Thread (which is supposedly energy efficient). I bought the old version which was marketed for only Apple HomeKit. After adding it to the Eve app, it offered me an option to update the device to support Matter. This is nice as the Matter version cost about £10 more when I purchased it. Matter opens the device up to other smart home systems (e.g. Alexa and Google Home). All in all a great purchase with an option to swap smart home system in the future, and up to this point it has never missed another door events.

I bought EVE Window & Door in December 2023. Today is December 2024. IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM. I have had no problems at all since the purchase. I changed the battery for the first time in November 2024, so it should last at least a year. The EVE application also works. It is interesting to see how many times a day and for how long doors are opened or closed or how long family members have been away from home. I also have peace of mind during the holidays.I only had once problem with connection, but a quick reset fixed it. Just once.I use the Apple ecosystem and AppleTV is the hub.

Eve knows how to make great products, and great smart home products they are. I can’t recommend this company and their products enough. Every smart home category Eve enters they knock it out of the park. Plus! this Door Sensor Gen works with Matter, so it’s super easy to upgrade with a lower price 😀
