Bright, versatile small RGB LED lightbulbs with a great app
I have two small wall fixtures that, due to the size and shape of the lamp shades, will not fit any bulb over about 9-9.5mm in length as it would stick out of the top of the shade. I have never before purchased a smart bulb, but as the price wasn’t much more than £5 above the price of two standard LED bulbs, so I took a chance – and I must say so far I am impressed.The are true to length, at 9mm long, and just fit into my light fixtures without the end sticking out of the shade. The app this one uses is called ‘Smart Life – Smart Living’, which currently enjoys a review score of 4.7 on Google’s Play Store. There is another, similarly named app titled ‘Smart Life – Smart Home’ which has an abysmal 2.1 rating and a lot of complaints, so I was relieved when I scanned the QR code on the box of bulbs and was led to the former app. The Smart Life app is very easy to use, and it was a doddle to connect the bulbs to my wireless network. It seems to offer far more features than I will ever need from these light bulbs, such as customised programming, schedules etc, which means that more experienced home automation users are well served. In fact I think this application is really very impressive, though it is overkill for my needs. I only need to be able to turn on the lights, change the colours/brightness levels and that is pretty much it. I appreciate, however, that this application has much more to offer and I can grow into it.The lights are definitively brighter than my old 400 lumen bulbs that they replaced, though I am unable to test their output to see if they are outputting 600 lumens as advertised. I know they’re brighter, so I am willing to accept their marketing. It is very easy to change between the different shades of white or colours, which are represented in the app as being on different tabs. It is very intuitive to use, and even my partner was able to adjust the light bulbs without much effort (or training). A feature I really like is the ability to both save colours and the brightness levels, which is a feature I use on a daily basis. During the day, especially during this lovely sunny weather, I have been running the lights at around 55% on the white scale, which equates to approximately 5000K, which is a natural white colour. When the sun begins setting I have been changing it to a warmer colour, and at night I have been setting the lights to the colour red and adjusting the brightness to 5%. The 5% brightness is enough to see clearly all throughout the room once my eyes are adjusted, and it reminds me of my time in the Navy when I was in my youth. I love the red light at night, and seeing how well these lights have been handling the different, albeit simple, changes I have been very impressed with them. I hope they will last at least a year or two, and will adjust my review if necessary.

Easy to set up and provided plenty of light
I bought these for the two uplighter wall lights in my living room which turn on from the doublle lightswitch which also controls the ceiling lights. The switch is at the other end of the room from the door I would normally use.They were easy to connect using the Tuya app. I put one bulb in, connected it to the Tuya app, and then connected the second. Both were connected within minutes.I can now turn on the lights from the other side of the room or from my chair – Brilliant.
