Product Description

What’s our original purpose of designing this HDD dock?
Nowadays, we have more and more needs for easy and fast data storage and backup with the gradual popularization of M.2 SSD. Besides, for some legacy SATA hard drives, we also want to make good use of them.
Therefore, we design this HDD dock, which can fulfill your needs of using different types of hard drives. Only one dock can handle various hard drives, so to some extent, this hard drive dock can help reduce waste and promote low carbon to achieve sustainability.
What’s another feature of FIDECO hard drive dock?
Our HDD dock is engineered with one cooling fan for fast and effective heat dissipation, which can help protect your hard drives and prolong their lifespan.
The cooler operating environment can also ensure a more stable and speedy data transfer in daily use, so whether you use SATA hard drive or M.2 SSD, you can both enjoy lag-free data transfer.

FIDECO SSD docking station can support different types of hard drives.
For SATA hard drive:
2.5″ SATA SSD2.5″ SATA HDD3.5″ SATA HDD

Great products and excellent customer service
The multi-drive caddy worked very well for 6 months, and then suddenly stopped working. I have a few products made by Fideco, all of which are well-made and do the job they are designed for. This is the first time that I have had a problem with a Fideco product. It’s bound to happen sooner or later; you’ll get a product that isn’t quite up to the usual standards. When I reported the problem to Fideco, I quickly received a reply stating that they would send out another caddy. There was no fuss, I didn’t have to send photos or videos, nor did I have to fill out loads of forms. For me, personally, how a company deals with customers’ problems is as important as the products that they sell, and Fideco have been excellent with both products and customer service. I have confidence in them and will not hesitate to use and purchase other Fideco products.

A mixed bag
I was pleased, then slightly disappointed, then annoyed. If I could give half stars I’d give 3.5 out of 5 because it does at least work for the fundamentals. But why the disappointment? Read on.It all started well. The packaging is really good with the unboxing experience considered well. The USB lead it comes with is superb quality, very flexible and has an integrated USB-C to USB-A adaptor which is always helpful. The mains adaptor is really nice quality as well. It does what it advertises itself to do perfectly, and I’ve had 2.5″ and 3.5″ hard drives and a SATA SSD plugged in for either Windows or Linux depending where I needed it. Speed is absolutely fine and as expected for the media plugged into it.But there are design issues that drag it down. It’s a bit light, lighter than expected and than it looks. The black-and-silver plastic design is dated and for something fairly large on your desk you probably don’t want to feel like it’s from twenty years ago. (The LED on it is, at least, not an eyeball-piercing blue but a calming white – one day manufacturers will give up on bright blue LEDs and that day can’t come soon enough.)The most frustrating design issue (and potentially calamitous) is the rear switch for turning on and off the fan, because it’s not an automatic thing. The power switch is a nice, normal switch, easy to use and easy to find as you fell around the back. The switch for the fan is an altogether different affair though, a stiff slide switch poking out through the case. “That’s not so bad, I can live with that,” you think.Well, here’s the thing. When you feel around the back to turn it on, you’ll try sliding it, pushing this way and that, and due to the stiffness nothing will happen. Then you’ll wonder if you’ve got the right thing, you will feel further across the back, you’ll find the power switch and you’ll automatically press it because it’s what we’re conditioned to do. If you wanted the fan on because the drive was hot, it’s probably down to being in heavy use, and what you’ve done instead is switch the adaptor off in the middle of copying files, effectively yanking the disk from the computer like you’re absolutely never supposed to do.Fortunately for me I was testing the unit for review, and didn’t lose anything except some time and happiness. But it needn’t have been like this; with just a bit of more thoughtful industrial design it could’ve been great. A better switch in a better position is all it would take to forgive the 2004 vibes. So 3.5 stars, but it has to be adjusted down to 3.

Great for troubleshooting
I bought this to help troubleshoot drives of all types that are modern. It seems to work well apart from the fan which is too noisy even though moderately effective.

A great multi featured hard drive dock
Dr. M. Cunningham –
Big fan of hub. Big fan in hub.
Hub has fan included to cool your ardour. Can take NVMe or SSD in two appropriate slots. Only one to be used in operative mode. Not for older 7cm metal HDDs.Fan has independent switch. Recommended.

Works great, just wish it had more than one connection. I use it to clone drives from mechanical HDD to M.2.
