Almost Perfect
This is a great piece of kit, which is almost perfect.I have 2 SSD’s that I don’t want to install inside my PC as I will move them occasionally between pc’s and I have tried a couple of caddies but they don’t always seem to give the full speed or even 75% of the speed.I have this on my desk now which I have plugged in both drives and as you can see from the images, the speed is almost 100% of what you would expect from an SSD.I even with the minor issues below still 1000% recommend this!!There are 3 issues I have with it though:1: Drives can be loose at times, once the drive is installed (2.5″ Drive) they can be a bit loose, so just be careful.2: This a Windows issue mainly but each drive shows as it’s own drive, but if you want to remove one of the drives you have to tell Windows to eject the whole device, remove the one drive and flick the power switch off and on in order to get windows to detect the remaining drive again.I don’t know if in newer models this is an issue or not, but just be aware if you need something to be available at all times to the OS, do not use a drive installed in here.3: Again this is a Windows issues but when you have only one drive installed and you plug in a 2nd drive, the first drive will disappear from the file explorer, the 2nd drive will appear and then you need to refresh the file explorer to get the first drive to appear.I am going to be reinstalling Windows soon, so should any of these change once that is done then I will update the review.

Great performance, excellent build quality, easy-to-follow instructions
Absolutely outstanding item. I bought a new 2TB SSD to replace my 1TB SSD which was running out of space. I used the offline clone feature of this item which was clearly explained in the multilingual manual and was very easy to use. My 1TB SSD had 820GB data and it was cloned to the replacement 2TB SSD in less than an hour! I then simply installed the new SSD in my computer, loaded Windows Disk Manager and extended my Drive-C partition into the 1TB free space and hey presto – 2TB storage!I would absolutely recommend this item – it worked flawlessly, didn’t feel cheap in my hands, and came with an easy-to-understand plain English manual.

This cloning dock is quite compact so doesn’t take up much space. It’s good quality, is packaged very well and comes with a UK 3A power supply. During my first clone of a 500GB 3.5″ drive to a 2.5″ SSD it didn’t really get warm at all. Speed of copying was much faster than trying to copy through a laptop and SATA USB adapters (for example).I have been looking at this type of dock for some time and Fideco seemed good value. They are, especially when it comes with a proper UK power supply.Only niggle is the size of the LEDs. They are pin-small. There’s a red one for power-on and three blue ones to track the copying process. With my older eyes I would have liked larger LEDs as it felt like I had to peer into the tiny holes to check progress.However it’s a fine device and works really well.

I used this to backup a hardrive for a friend – i used the ‘offline clone’ method and it worked perfectly first time.I also used it to access the contents of the hardrive while connected to the computer and it worked with no issues.Very happy with the purchase and i would recommend it.

Turns off drives out of nowhere, could easily corrupt files. Potentially dangerous heat.
There’s no driver or program for controlling any settings on this dock. You can use Edit Power Plan in Windows to stop hard drives from going to sleep or turning off after being inactive for a set period of time. However, even with this set (which is inconvient for power saving) this dock will randomly shut the drives down in the middle of a file transfer if the transfer is over a couple of minutes. Not good for the drives, not good for the files and not good for use of your time if you set it up then walk away or go to bed.The drive lights and activity lights have never worked for me.The transfer and the dock also run very hot which would give me no confidence in leaving them on overnight for long file transfers or scans, let alone as a solution for a NAS/media server or anything like that.

Fonctionne parfaitement en tant que station pour gérer et utiliser des disques dur ou ssd, je l’utilise plus pour tester des disques dur et des ssd ou utiliser directement un disque insérer dans la station comme un disque dur en boîtier annexe. Concernant le clonage direct hors ligne j’ai testé cela mais vu que le temps est long je pense qu’il fonctionne, mais je passe plutôt par le logiciel HD CLONE qui permet de mieux gérer la gestion des clonages de supports. Je conseil vivement cette station si vous souhaitez utiliser des disques dur ou ssd comme une installation en boîtier annexe usb. La station permet également déja d’exploiter et d’utiliser deux supports en même temps connectés sur la station depuis votre gestionnaire de fichiers avec Windows, ou encore de lancer des jeux vidéo directement installés sur un disque dur inséré sur la station si vous n’avez au cas plus de place pour installer un autre disque dur ou ssd dans votre PC. La station offre aussi la possibilité d’exploiter deux disques dur ou ssd annexe en les utilisant sur la station c’est utile au besoin.

Works as expected, data transfer speeds are very good and build quality is good as per the price. Neither device nor the hard disks heat up beyond normal values during heavy prolonged usage. Hard disk cloning requires removing the usb cable from the device, very good safeguard. Very happy with the purchase, must buy.

Excelente, Y si sirve para clonar EXACTAMENTE IGUAL el hdd de un Ps4 500gb a un nuevo SSD de 1tby cuando digo exacto es hasta las particiones del hdd origen.Al googlear pq:Al clonar un HDD de PS4 a un SSD de mayor capacidad, es posible que la consola no detecte todo el almacenamiento disponible debido a la forma en que el sistema operativo y el software de clonación manejan las particiones y el espacio. Los programas de clonación pueden tener dificultades para escalar adecuadamente la partición del sistema operativo, especialmente si hay particiones de recuperación o archivos de sistema que no se ajustan fácilmente a la nueva capacidad.No eh verificado con otro consola, de momento funciona perfecto en lo que ocupaba, al parecer tengo que vovler a formatear el nuevo SSD y crear el respaldo y actualizacion de firmware como recomeinda la pagina oficial de ps4.Si hacen clonado a un ssd de misma capacidad que el origen no debe causar ningun problema ~

Disclaimer: I haven’t tried the cloning feature or any software.If you have a box of hard drives from every old computer in your immediate family plus your extended family and friend network, this drive bay is a fantastic time saver for going through them to find old memories or blackmail, or to consolidate multiple backups so you don’t have a giant box of old unlabeled hard drives to deal with.The dedicated power switch is great for a convenient and least-dangerous way to cancel read/write operations that are bogging down the rest of the system because of a bad drive.
