Great alternative to an expensive lens
I’m new to photography and wanted to do some close up Macro shots for fun, so I bought these as I can’t warrant paying the high price for a macro lens. I know the proper lens would give superior results but have to say I’m very impressed with these filters. These work as I would have expected. The +10 is difficult to use on my camera as it was unable to focus and keep focused. The other sizes are excellent and give good results. Good addition for my Samsung NX1000 camera, I can now do a bit of macro photography. They come in a fold up pouch that has individual webbed pockets for each lens which has a velcro strap to keep them secure. Each lens has a mark up on the side to indicate magnification amount, +1, +2. +4 and +10, plus these can be added to each other to make any combination of magnification, yet the +10 wouldn’t work, albeit I don’t know how to set a digital camera up correctly so it may be just me. The pouch contains the 4 lenses, a spare lens cover and a micro fibre cleaning cloth.Highly recommended.

Surprisingly good.
I wasn’t expecting much when I bought these, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good they are. I’ve included a picture of a horsefly I took with the +10 lens fitted to a Sony RX10 iv. It’s heavily cropped but still quite impressive for the price.

Interesting for starters
Cost benefit is a great starter. You pay what you get and in this case you get a nice little pouch that you can use to carry filters around – this was actually the main goal when I bought it, much cheaper than many other filter bags, and it’s nicely constructed.I tried the macro lens on top of my 18-55mm fuji lens, they fit okay. Don’t over tight. The autofocus got lost more than I wanted when trying the +10 zoom and it actually adds a lot of chromatic aberration on the photos.+4 and +2 actually worked well. I had fun taking photos of flowers and some bees going around. You do lose some stops, but it’s manageable. The photos are not crystal clear but again, this costs less than 20 bucks. Great fun seeing a bit more of the world.I have not tried the +1 lens, but might give it a go eventually.I have added some examples of the shots as they came out, cropped 20% to hide for some of the strange distortions on the corners of the lens.

Need to review.
I feel I should write a clear review as I always go through the reviews myself before making a purchase. Now, when I was reviewing all my options for purchase I realised that too many stock pictures where put on to sell. I makes it look like the seller is trading under numerous names using the same stock photos. After this I was reading the reviews and there were so many low star reviews and they were suggesting the lenses were either scratched or wrong size or didn’t work.Firstly, all the lenses were carefully protected and in their own pouches that they were definitely no where near each other to be scratched or damaged in any way. As a semi pro photographer I wouldn’t just shake these lenses out of the protective pouch. You take out one at a time!Secondly, size! Well they’re not a one size fits all. The size of camera lens do differ. All camera lenses clearly state the measurement on the side of each lens. No guessing required. I suggest anyone looking to make a purchase of this product takes a look at the actual measurement that’s printed. (Although I say that, when applying the filters they are a bit tricky because of the thread. It’s not an easy replacement so be prepared especially when you’re trying to get that sunrise or sunset with the correct filter!)Lastly, ‘they don’t work’. Sorry, what do you mean, ‘they don’t work’. They’re a filter. They work perfectly as they’re intended. The camera user has to adapt as with most filters. As a user you have to adapt the aperture settings etc to compensate for whichever filter you’re using. It’s not like a phone camera or a ‘my first camera’. Do a bit of work to get the right picture.I’m very happy with my purchase. My only niggle is the fitting of the screw thread but it’s something to get use to and the sun cover filter is extremely awkward to fit. But then again I’ve had clip on ones before with my Nikon. Very quick and easy and it clipped backwards when not in use so I didn’t have to put it in my kit bag.I hope I’ve made things clear in my review.

How the lenses affect macro level photos
OK, I have bought 1000’s of items of Amazon, ebay etc, and to be honest I have never thought the need to ever write a rewiew. Most reviews tend to be honest and I’ll usually go by them. But, as photography tends to be a passion of mine, based on rewiews of this item I thought I’d spend an hour of my life giving a solid review. So, here are 5 photos focusing on a lavender flower at the closest focal length possible with my 320mm lens. 1st is without a lens attachment, 2nd is +1, 3rd is +2, 4th is +4 and 5th is +10. This is using a lens set at 320mm focal length at f5.6 on 100th of a second shutter speed free hand but with a 4 stop image stability. All photos are taken individually and no image editing was used. I’m sure a photographer would spot the differences anyway. From my perspective, the +10 is useless. Only the central 50% portion of the photo is useful, but not useful enough to be considered a decent photo. The outside 50% of the photo is a blurred mess. Even a bee on this flower would not look sharp. The +1, +2 and the +4 offer decent images. These appear pretty good. For £20, these are probably a decent buy, just bin the +10 lens as it’s complete image is not worthy. Also worth noting, but a photographer will know this anyway, when you try to focus with these attachments on, the stronger the lens attachment, the closer you need to be to the image to focus.
