perfect replacement item
I recently added the Fotover HB-33 Lens Hood Sun Shade Replacement to my photography gear, specifically for my Nikon AF-S DX18-55mm F3.5-4.5G ED Lens, and itâs proven to be a fantastic investment.Right out of the box, I was impressed with the quality and build of the lens hood. It’s made from durable, lightweight materials that perfectly match the Nikon lens aesthetic. Attaching it was a breeze; it fit securely and felt like an original part of the lens. The performance is where this lens hood truly shines. It significantly reduces lens flare and glare, which can be a photographer’s worst enemy when shooting in bright sunlight. The hood effectively blocks stray light, resulting in clearer, more vibrant images. It also adds a layer of protection to the lens, safeguarding it from accidental bumps and scratches. The design is practical and thoughtful. The petal shape not only enhances the look of my camera setup but also ensures that the hood does not obstruct the lens’ field of view, which is crucial for capturing wide-angle shots without vignetting. In summary, the Fotover HB-33 Lens Hood Sun Shade Replacement is a must-have accessory for any photographer using a Nikon AF-S DX18-55mm F3.5-4.5G ED Lens. It enhances image quality, provides essential protection, and is a perfect fit for the lens. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their photography experience!

Great little hood
Works great, does the job and it’s great value for money.

Cheaper than the Canon version but works.
It does the job at a third of the price.

Don’t buy it!
Very poor quality. Bought the specific one for my lens, it doesn’t engage properly and just keeps spinning. Waste of money!!

Don’t listen to everyone else..
Ok so don’t listen to everyone else saying it doesn’t fit or it’s a stiff fit. I bought this with the intention on it going on my Canon EFS 50mm f/1.8 stm lens. And it fits absolutely perfect. Maybe the other reviewers didn’t buy it for this specific lens, but If you read the product discription and it says it’s for the canon 50mm lens, it definitely is. Works like a treat and it’s reversible. Defo worth having if you don’t fancy paying fortunes for a genuine canon one.

Does what it’s supposed to do
This was bought as a replacement lens hood for a Nikon AF NIKKOR 24-85mm f/2.8-4D, and it fits that lens perfectly. It does feel a little fragile maybe, but no more fragile than the original.

Loosey goosey
When I fitted it to my cameras lens, it was larger than the lenses own mounting so it was wobbly and didn’t inspire any confidence holding on.What I did to fix this was to pull out my super glue then add a little layer of glue to tighten up that connection. Tested it and applied more glue let it dry test again, adding little by little to get the connection nice and tight. Now it’s a more robust connection thanks to adding a couple layers of super glue.

Shades the sun
Bought this as a cheaper alternative to the Canon version. It is not quite as thicker plastic as the genuine Canon version but it does fit after I had removed some excess flash from the inner section, which was making the hood not so easy to fit. As a hood it works well would happily buy another if I break this one.
