What does the center green light mean?
In certain models, the center LED will turn green to indicate the exact center of the stud.
What does the single blinking light mean?
Several of our models now have a low battery indicator. When the battery voltage is low, the second LED from the right will flash. Replace with two brand new batteries.

In certain models, the LED lights will flash when you first press the button to assure you that the unit is on and receiving power.
What batteries can I use?

Our stud finders work best through a single layer of sheetrock/drywall.
Lath and Plaster
While many customers have reported success using our stud finders through lath and plaster, detection is not guaranteed due to irregularities in plaster thickness.
Incompatible Surfaces
We do not recommend using our stud finders through stucco, exterior siding, double layers of sheetrock/drywall (common in condos, townhomes and home theaters), tile, wood flooring, carpet or roofing.

Finally! Works on wood
Never normally leave reviews but felt compelled by this product.
After struggling with both name brand and off-brand products to locate wooden studs in a plasterboard wall (without spending £300), it was refreshing to find that this product actually works! Head great repeatability and precision right out of the box and is very easy to use.
Disclaimer: havenât tried it on wires/pipes but there are plenty of other products out there that seem to work for that. This is a must-have for wood. Description says that depth is limited – havenât tested on thicker substrates but works perfectly on plasterboard.

Actually finds studs!
Iâve tried several detectors over the years and have been disappointed. But I was actually surprised with how good this device was. It was a little temperamental with finding live wires, but I use a different device for that anyway. I purchased this device for finding studs and it works.

No calibration needed!
I bought this after moving into my first house for DIY use. I’ve used sensors in the past but they’re a bit vague and require calibration, very hard to trust the results as they’re always somewhat random.
This equipment is great, as it displays real-time studs and their exact positions along the top. It would be nice to have some more details, but it’s obvious enough I feel if it’s a stud or a pipe. Pipes tend to be inconsistent whereas studs stay solid. The electricity detection seems accurate also, though you should use due diligence so as to not hit wires adjacent to studs.
I think I will be using a combination of this and a secondary detector (to try determine materials and double-check pipe/cable positions) in the future, but I have used this many times and always hit studs directly.

It works brilliantly.
Push it against the ceiing, it moves smoothly, even over artex and eventually using the leds you will line up the joist in the centre to be marked.

Best stud finder I’ve used
Used a few stud finders and all the other seem to leave me more confused after I’ve used them than I was before.
This one is decent but expensive compared to the others I’ve used. Only leaves me slightly confused.

I don’t think any are superior. I had a Bosch, very expensive but this is easier to use and just as accurate for a quarter of the price. Anyone can use this, it’s a dream. Even been able to detect totally unknown pipes.

Absolute, by far, best stud finder I have ever owned. After many frustrations with a regular beeping one (Stanley), I decided to try a Franklin because of the reviews. Went with the M210 since it’s a higher model. Glad I did. I will never go with another brand again. It shows the exact positions of a stud, and exactly where the center is. Power detection also works very well. Thank you for an outstanding product that removes all of the guessing from false positives.
