Heating Soldering Plate Mini
Mini soldering plate with smart thermostat chip with OLED display.You don’t get any instructions and it is tiny, made from cheap plastics…etc.Their description does give brief operating instructions though:How To Use:1. Double Keys Pressed At The Same Time: Heat or stop heating2. Press and hold twice to enter the menu screen or exit3. Press and hold the double key to confirmI just used a 5V/1A supply at hand to see the display at first.I then used a 60W supply with 60W USB-C lead (They recommend 65W) but it was pulling 20V.I did test the heating plate out after setting up the device with the above and to 100C, but the temps were way out at an average -20C at 160C settings, The top recommended setting of 250C only went as far as 170C for a short blip.The display states Celsius. I did also see if there was a setting to change C to F in the TEMP settings, but nothing as I could find!Their Description:Supports usb type c interface and pd protocol, ensuring quick heating speed.Power Supply: PD65W 20V 3.25A (PD65W recommended)Temperature Range: 0â~350â (the lowest temperature is ambient temperature, can only be increased, can not be reduced)Note:1. The power supply needs a charger that supports the PD protocol, the voltage is 20V 3.25A, and the voltage that can support the PD protocol is 20V in .(To be fair I was -5W below the recommended power supply, so It’s not a correct or scientific test.)It’s pretty critical as to what temp you use for certain solder melting points…etc, and without external tools to check, so it’s pretty hit and miss.I just can’t recommend it especially as they contradict the devices claims.May as well use the travel iron.

Super fast heating
This is great. It heats up super quickly and is pretty easy to control. No instructions or anything provided, but basically you press both buttons at the same time to turn the heating on, and then the left and right buttons to change the target temp.On the screen there is a nice little bar of where it has heated up to so far, and a moving target dot. Very intuitive. Goes up to a maximum of 350C on the screen, though I haven not yet ventured that high.It works perfectly with a PD USB Cable, and indicates the voltage on the screen. It does feel a bit homemade, but it doesn’t feel poorly made at all. The menu navigation could be improved a bit, but with 2 buttons it is about as good as you can expect.Really nice soldering plate all things considered.
