Very effective and useful
This security bar is very useful and plays a very important part in the security of your life. It’s easily adjustable and is very robust and strong. Due to the great design and the way this can be propped up using leverage, this prevents the door from being opened even under great force.Note, the security of this depends on the strength of the door handle. This also works quite effectively on sliding patio doors too, but as per the video / image, install or prop this as low and as flat as possible as this will prevent this from being rattled out by any intruder from shaking the door. This is a must for anyone living in insecure areas, or hotels etc.

Robust sturdy security bar
PRODUCT: Heavy duty security bar.PACKAGING: Cardboard box with marking details printed on all sides.FUNCTION: Inside the box the long metal tube is in a clear plastic bag, and in another bag, the pivot foot and the Y shape head. There is also a user manual. This is printed on an A4 sheet of paper. It has diagrams with guidance beneath. Mine was a little blurred so not particularly useful. The online advert is much better. The metal tube is in three sections, each is inside one another and pull out to expand the length. There are holes at regular intervals all the way along and a metal push pin secures the tube to the chosen length. When collapsing the pole, twist it so the pin runs free of the holes, otherwise you will struggle. The swivel joint is made of plastic and is a little stiff to move (back and forth), but it does work fine. The Y shape head is also plastic. I have stuck some felt here (the type you put under chairs to stop them scuffing the floor) so there will be no chance of the door furniture being damaged. The swivel foot slots onto the end of the steel tube. There is a groove inside the foot, so the tube needs to be facing the correct way. There is a red arrow sticker on the tube and the foot to assist with this. However, the fit was really tight. I mean, it was snug. I thought perhaps mine was faulty as it just would not push in as the tube seemed to large for it. In the end I had to place the swivel foot on the floor, securing it between my feet, and use my body weight to push down on the tube, and this worked. Once on, the swivel foot will probably not come back off. The Y shape head was easier to get on as this has a push pin which secures into a hole.In use this works and it is a bit like when you wedge a chair under the door handle. The pole is well made and powder coated in white. It is quite weighty, so not sure many will want to take this abroad when they go on vacation. At the time of this review (May 2025) the security bar was £21.99. I think this is reasonable and as a female who lives on her own I am very grateful for any additional security. I would recommend.

Very strong, easy to adjust
A great security device, very strong. Initially I didn’t find the ‘3rd’ inner pole so thought it wasn’t long enough. The following day I’ve finally found it – there’s a black ‘ring’ at one end, out of which slides the 3rd pole, phew. Now it’s a great fit for our door! The metal is thick and slides easily into place, plus the small round ‘catch’ is so easy to push in to adjust the setting, unlike so many devices where this kind of catch can be very tricky to push down, on this it’s very simple and works really well. It does mean that the doors have to fit with the holes which come at pre-set increments but somehow between the 2 ends I got this to work really well – our door gap is 84.5cm and it fits really well – the door can’t be opened with bar in place. It’s clever that it can be used for handled doors too – this would be useful for an external door with handle or a door in shared accommodation or a hotel, anywhere that you need extra security or peace of mind for a bedroom door – a really good idea.

Does the job nicely
This rather odd but very useful gadget arrives in a easy to recycle cardboard box. A box that contains one bar, several accessories, plus a small manual. The former is made from a white powdered coated steel with a plastic ball joint at one end and a plastic hook at the. A bar that works like a crutch if you need to adjust the height. How it works is simple, after adjusting the height, wedge the hook under the door handle. Then place the ball joint on the floor, what will happen is the ball joint will adjust itself to the correct angle and the door will be secured shut. What’s also good is the ball joint has a rubber foot, so it’ll grip to concrete if used outside, but protect your carpet if used inside.Another positive is the addition of rubber cups, so you can also use this to secure a window. Plus it’s moderately lightweight as well, while quite not light enough for hand luggage it would OK to put into a suitcase. So it would be good for taking away on holiday and keeping your hotel room nice and secure.Security being something that it does surprisingly well, way better than using a stick or a broom handle. Indeed when testing this with a thin MDF panel door, I found the door broke! Though it’s real test came at securing my rear workshop door. This is a solid wooden door that can’t be locked while the workshop is use, so people tend to use my workshop as a short cut to other shops. However with this it stops people from nipping through, but I can remove it in seconds if I ever need to use that door. So for me this one’s a winner.
