Hello, smart alarm system!
Not long since removing an antiquated alarm system in the house did I feel the need to replace with something more modern and smart. I needed easy install and mobile monitoring for when I’m away from home (people have a tendency in our area to have house alarms which go off without the owner turning them off for hours on end).This kit is great. It’s a starter pack and can be expanded on (their other parts to add to the kit are super reasonable in value. In the box, there is the hub, 2x NFC tags used to disarm (can easily attach to your keyring, and you can purchase additional ones for next to nothing), 1 PIR to detect movement in the home, 2x door/window sensors and a vibration sensor.I had the whole system installed and working within 30 minutes and now I get alerts to my phone if anything is breached.What a great bit of kit, I plan to purchase some more door sensors to add to the system in the near future!

One of the Main reasons for purchasing this particular System is the almost endless âAdd-Onâsâ to make even more parts of your Home Secure. Iâve just started off with this Starter Kit that includes the following: One Smart Cube Hub (Type C and Backup Battery Powered), One Garage Door Sensor, Two Contact Sensors, One Vibration Sensor and Two Fobs. Thereâs actually a Very Good YouTube Video by SAFE-TECH (UK) that Simply Shows the Set-Up & Installation Process, which looks like even a Child could do it! You can also Control all the Sensors through the HESTIA App, which is Downloadable for FREE and suitable for both your Android & iOS Devices. Price wise, you canât put a Cost on Safety, so I think £67.96 (£79.95 minus a 25% off voucher currently on the advert) is Great Value. Overall, I canât give it the full 5/5 Stars yet, as itâs Not been Fully Tested – But, from my In-Depth Research into this Specific Device & the HESTIA Company as a Whole, I Have Complete Faith & High Expectations In It! Does the job!
Our neighbourhood has been attracting some unsavoury characters lately and there’s been some burglaries, so I like having tools available to help keep up security.Our place isn’t super big, so this starter kit is a good starting point. This kit is quite ideal for a flat more than a house but it’s expandable with further items in the Hestia range so you can go as far as you like.It’s quite easy to setup with your phone and so far is working well and as intended, with notifications sent timely. Hopefully the day will never come where we have to test it for real but if it does the other half feels safer having this system set up.

USB C connector in Cube misaligned.
The ‘Hestia Wireless Home Security Alarm Kit with Windows Alarm, PIR Motion Sensor, Door Alarm Sensor and 2 Fobs, No Monthly Subscription Fee’ arrived in a branded box.I will start with why I have given this product a 1 star review rating; unfortunately when I moved to the testing phase of my review I found that the USB C power cable would not plug into the Cube, and on checking the Cube I noticed the USB C socket was misaligned with the opening; not knowing how the connector was attached internally I did not want to force the plug in; I have included a picture to show the issue.As to the rest of the kit I did have one small issue and that was with the cover for the vibration sensor; being a small device I had difficulty getting the cover on and off due to my large fingers spanning both parts I was trying to separate; and on reassembly the floating wire kept getting in the way of fitting the cover.Unfortunately due to the connector issue I have not been able to test the kit as a whole.

Great value, easy to set up, and gives real peace of mind
Iâve been using the Hestia Wireless Home Security Alarm Kit for a few weeks now and Iâm really impressed so far. For the price, itâs a solid bit of kit and offers great peace of mind without having to pay monthly subscription fees like some of the bigger brands. I use this along with two wireless cameras at front and back of house.The setup was genuinely easy â everything was clearly labelled, and the app walks you through the process step by step. I had the main hub, door sensor, motion sensor, and two fobs all connected and working in under an hour. I really liked that the system is compact and doesnât take up loads of space or look bulky around the home.Itâs reassuring that the system is expandable â you can add extra sensors later if needed, which is great as I might get more for the upstairs windows. The app is simple and reliable, and Iâve used it to check in and arm/disarm the system remotely when Iâve popped out or been at work.I tested the sensors a few times just to make sure everything was working. The PIR motion sensor picked up movement in the hallway quickly, and the door sensor triggered as expected when the door was opened while armed. The alarm sound itself is loud enough to alert you and hopefully deter any unwanted visitors.The build quality seems solid for the price. The components feel well made, though time will tell how durable they are long-term. So far, I feel confident in the product â itâs doing the job itâs meant to and hasnât given me any trouble.All in all, a simple, compact and budget-friendly home alarm system that gives you that extra level of security without being complicated. Ideal for anyone wanting an easy setup and good basic home protection.
