The Hiwill Soundbar has an attractive light wood grain panel style top. It was easy to place through two crosswise rubber feet, and it looks really nice and I suspect the wood is also better at processing sound. The provided manual emphasizes the steps needed to find one of a number of ways to connect the sound through the tv. I was delighted that our DVD player went right through without any additional setup. The included remote works well to adjust the volume. The default sound settings are satisfactory without any additional changes. The remote offers a number of sound adjustment features including an EQ button. Additionally, the buttons on the top of the unit are easy to use for turning the power on and off, changing the input mode, and adjusting the volume. This sound bar has made our tv into a true home theater, and it looks and sounds great! An email address is included in the manual should any questions pop up, such as:The manual does not clarify how the power mode works. Is it always on? Does it go into standby? How is the display view different from the power mode?Occasionally the display view doesnât turn off when I turn off the TV. It seems like I have to wait for the display light to go out and then turn off the tv if I donât want the display light to remain on. However, just because it is off, does that mean it is on standby? And does that matter? Is the power draw minimal, is there a unit heat issue, if it is always on?If I do turn it off because I don’t know how the standby or power settings work, then I would then have to turn on and then change mode each and every time. The off button on the remote seems to indicate that this is the way. If at least the power mode could be in memory that would be helpful. The light of the display view is very brightâas in blindingly bright. It would be nice to be able to adjust it or turn it off completely. The manual abbreviates a few ideas about the power mode, calling it the âWorking State,â however this makes it even more unclear by adding additional terms such as âautomatic flameout,â which may or may not mean that the display view light (my term) goes off.

This is a review for Hiwill 5.2.2ch Wooden Dolby Atmos Soundbar, All-in-one Sound Bar for Smart TV with Dual Built-in Subwoofer, Resonance Optimization Architecture, 400W Surround Sound System for TV Speaker, WoNoble A502I wanted a sound bar for my tv, since I was just using the tv speakers, which were ok, but I wanted something better. I really wanted to like this product, but I don’t feel it’s worth the price tag, even if it does look nice. The first unit I got, was smashed up on both sides of the grill. I looked on Amazon’s website to see about getting it replaced, and there was not a way to do it without returning the item, and then buying another. So I figured I would at least see how it sounds, and at first I was happy with it. However, within a minute or so, I heard a shrill noise coming from the area on the soundbar that was smashed, and so I figured the speaker was damaged. I called up Amazon, and the rep told me a way to get in contact with the seller. The seller got back to me in about an hour. I was surprised that they just asked me for my address, and sent out a new unit within a day (and it was on the weekend too). So, customer support gets 5 stars from me. When I received the new unit, I opened the box, and this one was also damaged, but only slightly. I’m guessing their quality control is lacking quite a bit.Unfortunately, when I set this unit up (the same as the other), using eARC, which my TV immediately recognized, it had the same exact shrill noise as the first one. I isolated it as coming from the top tweeters. They just aren’t good quality. When you sit farther away from the unit, you don’t hear it as much, but I figured I would try and EQ it out. Unfortunately, the EQ settings on the remote seem to do nothing or very little. The remote also has a volume button for what appears to be rear sound, so I figured I would try those as well, as the tweeters are probably just putting too much sound out for what they were designed for. That changed nothing as well.As much as I want to like this soundbar, and even though their customer service was outstanding, I will have to give this unit two stars, and can not recommend it at this time. Maybe I am just too sensitive to the shrill noise this thing puts out, or maybe I got two defective units in a row. Either way, QC is not good enough on a 200 dollar item.
