Great replacement
I was about to throw away my camping electric cool box as the cable kept overheating in the car almost to the point of melting. I thought I’d try a replacement 12v car cable first and w delighted to discover it worked perfectly with no overheating. It comes with 2 spare fuses too. Highly recommended.

This cable is ideal for connecting my large Halfords Cool box to the car cigarette lighter socket. Its much better than the original cable with higher quality plugs that actually stay in the sockets. I am always finding the box off in the car as the bumps in the road cause the connector to work loose and fall out. This unit has a much more secure plug that actually takes a fair bit of force to get it to disconnect – perfect for not just falling out!The connection to the cool box is the standard two pin with slot to locate it the correct way around. This plug has bright clean contacts with an over-molding of good quality. It fits very well into the cool box socket with reasonable stiffness and not likely to work loose.I ran the cool box for a while to see if the connectors stayed cool (an indication a good connection) and they did for the fifteen minutes I tried it. I will update this review once I have done a long journey in the car with the box running for much longer.There is a nice pattern on the plug that shows a little more care has been taken over the design.This will now be my default cable for running the cool box.Very happy quality has improved in a world of ever cheapening of products and lowering of standards. If this product gets lost or broken I would purchase one without hesitation.

Good quality DC Cigarette lighter power cable. I could not unscrew the front by hand to access the fuse. Once I used a pliers to unscrew the front, it was easy to unscrew by hand. Works better than original.
