Effective replacement of old Honeywell CM921 wireless thermostat
I ordered this with some trepidation for self install. The LCD of the old item had become illegible. I was impressed that the new item was manufactured under the auspices of people who had designed and manufactured the old item. They said it could be paired with the existing receiver wired to the boiler without installing a new receiver. (Wiring up a new receiver is not a job I could take on, but a new receiver was included in the package). The instructions for pairing the thermostat with the receiver are on a short video which you have to access via a QR code with your smart phone. The video is excellent of its type. It is clear. If you are familiar with doing this sort of procedure it will be easy. Basically the pairing is done by pressing a series of presses of the buttons on both the thermostat and the receiver. The video plays quite quickly and the less able will find themselves going backwards and forwards trying to find the correct combination of presses of the buttons and keep track of where you are in the process. With patience and perseverance I proved it was possible to make it work.I can’t say it’s reduced our gas bill but at least we have got back control and didn’t have to call on professional help to do so …in that respect, good value.

    You need some technical skills.
YOU NEED some technical skills to replace one of these.House going cold so I looked at the wireless controller. Screen blank. Oh, batteries thought I. Changed batteries, and still dead. Tried to contact our heating service engineers, with no luck, so I ordered a replacement controller. Found out I need to watch a YouTube video to replace one, and even then, it took a couple of tries to replace it. It needs to be paired with the receiver relay. Fortunately, my receiver relay was compatible, but if it’s not, a new receiver is in the same box, which means some electrical skills to replace the old one.Paired the new controller with the old receiver, and still didn’t work. Took a second video to identify that when “paired”, the pairing needs to be saved to memory. (first video didn’t say this.)Tried pairing again, and the “save” option didn’t display. Tried again, and this time the “save” option did display. Saved it, and now working again. IT’S NOT JUST A CASE OF REPLACING THE UNIT.Identified that these controllers have two inherent problems. ONE. The display loses half its characters, due to the LCD losing some contacts with the circuit boards. TWO. The display goes dead, caused by deterioration of the ribbon connections between the back section, and the front section. (I hate ribbon connectors, having experience with them since the 70’s) I don’t think the quality of these devices, live up to the price charged for them. Inherent potential faults that should have been designed out by now.

    Replacement for CM927 Honeywell Thermostat
This is an absolute cracking bit of kit. Screen had gone on our old thermostat so could turn it on and off but not set temperature & set programs etc. This is a brilliant replacement. Easy to pair with our existing transmitter (although there is one in the box if you need it), easy to set up and works perfectly from the hallway at the bottom of the stairs to the boiler which is in the loft.Supplier also gives you a print of the QR codes to the installation video and instructions manual. All fixed and running in less than 10 minutes.

Not as many features as older versions
Bought as a replacement for older version, paired up easily BUT no holiday function or mode to put on for just a hour. Not as good as the old one so returned and hoping my older version will hang in there!

    Confusing
So this total home producr has a honeywell sticker over it so not sure what brand it actually is. Says it can replace honeywell CM927. The buttons on old one were sticking or not working so replaced with this and the signal doesn’t go as far as our old did, our boiler is in the out house and the control can only get signal by the back door 16ft away from the boiler. The old one would show a flame to say whether it was on this one doesn’t give you a signal so having to feel radiators to see if it is on or not which is frustrating. Can’t ask for refund as to get into product you have to break the sticker so not sure how that works either? Got someone to install it and will just have to see how it goes but not confident and could have lost a fair bit of money on it.
