Once set up it works well
At last an affordable small hub from flic! I plug this directly into my hub via usb (no need to use a wall plug) and it works fine and is small and discreet. I was initially concerned that the red light was showing, meaning it was constantly losing connection, but it turned out this was just Bluetooth and not wi-fi, and you only need Bluetooth to set it up, so all fine. Thereâs a bit of a slight delay when pressing a flic button to turn on LIFX lights, but Iâm ok with that rather than the hassle of trying to reset the hub again. So far it works perfectly well.

Lacking compatibility
Firstly, the physical product is excellent. Very sleek. The problem is the software. Flic seem to be trying to force the Flic app to be the center of your smart home, rather than seamlessly integrating into existing smart architecture, such as smatthings or home assistant. If you run extremely basic setups, this may be for you. Otherwise, don’t bother. The fact they operate on Matter is practically meaningless too.

Finally, an affordable hub for these amazing little devices. I personally use the buttons to run Alexa routines. I have found the response to be noticeably faster than running off the phone directly. Added bonus of not having to make sure the app is open on the phone or dedicating a spare phone to that function.
