Great as long as you know what to expect
I’ve had a 3D scanner sitting in the corner of my room for over a year. Gave up on it when I only got really poor scan results. Got this spray in the hope that it’d actually make my scanner useful and I’m delighted to say that it does!It gives a uniform (and washable!) finish to your item which allows the scanner’s light to reflect in a much more uniform and predictable way giving much cleaner and accurate results.Obviously there are some limitations as to what this can be applied to. Porous surfaces would be too absorbent and highly intricate details would be hard to clean (unless it’s a sacrificial item).As my scanner is only intended for small items you get a lot of coverage from a single can.WIll buy more when I need it!

Makes Scanning So Much Easier
I am still on an uphill battle with learning how to scan 3D objects properly as there seems to be a huge learning curve. That said many of the problems I encountered have been due to trying to scan objects that have a slight shine to them which doesn’t read well on the scanner.Enter this spray, I have never seen this type of product before so when this came up I had to give it a go and I’m so glad that I did.This is used just like a can of normal spray paint so I can cover any object with this which leaves a white matt coating that my scanner can recognise with no problems at all. Once the scanning is completed and I am satisfied with the results I can remove this coating simply by wiping it off. Some objects that I tried have very small recesses which when cleaning I have used a little water and a small brush but it all comes off pretty quickly leaving the item back in its original condition.Brilliant product,Recommended.

Easy to Use & Great Coverage
3D scanning spray is a must for anyone that owns a 3D scanner, this spray comes in a large 500ml spray can so it should last a long time for general and light use.I have multiple issues when trying to scan reflective items especially metallic and transparent ones, this spray is easy to use and it has excellent coverage, the spray is consistent and accurate, best applied in very thin layers at a time, the can is pressurised and so it does spray quickly.The spray is stated as non toxic but I can’t find the list of what the spray is made from anywhere, it is white in colour and has a chalky/matt appearance once dry, it is water soluble and can be rinsed off easily, it is worth noting that it maybe tricky cleaning it off some items that can’t be submerged in water.Overall, easy to use, shake well before each use, consistent application, the surface can smudge easy even when dry, can be washed off with water and a soft brush quickly, scanner works well to recognise the surface, does not reflect much light at all once sprayed evenly, may take some time to perfect your spraying technique as you do not wan’t the paint running or adding too much thickness to your scans, I hope that you have found my review to be helpful, thank you.
