Excellent lamp for the price
I purchased these to use in a couple of 3D printed lamps, they were a perfect fit for the purpose, easy to set up on the app and on Google home colors are good and strong with lots of effect options and with superb customer service I can highly recommend them

G9 Bulbs Just Got a Lot Taller, Fatter and SMARTER Using Smart Life
The first thing to note is that at a penny short of £12 each these are expensive G9 bulbs. They are also much larger than standard G9âs and consume 3.6W at maximum brightness. They do have a lot of positive attributes; dimmable, variable colour temperature, RGB colour combinations and App/Alexa control, but if you plan using a lot of them together I suspect they will be impossible to synchronise and look crazy.I got a pair to test for Amazonâs Vine programme and the following observations are based on one lamp being put through its paces. The two bulbs came in a nicely illustrated cardboard box. The two lamps were in a plastic tray protecting them from damage. There was also a small book of detailed instructions. This had small printing and illustrations making it difficult to read.I already have the âSmart Lifeâ app on my phone and use it extensively to control sockets and lights. It is a very good, reliable, app and I was pleased these lamps use it.On first connecting power the lamp illuminated and started flashing. I opened the Smart Life app and waited a few seconds after which the option to add the new lamp popped up on the screen. I didnât have to scan for it by pressing the â+â button as I would normally do.I have attached a screen recording of what happened. As you can see once connected the lamp was fully controllable with; on, off, brightness and colour temperature under the âwhiteâ tab and under the âcolourâ tab all the RGB settings and effects could be accessed. Significantly not only was the hue (red, green etc.) able to be altered, but also the saturation (whether the red is saturated, or pink, for example). Other tabs had special colour effects and a link to the music playing on the phone and, getting back down to earth, a timer to make them go out after a set period.Under the âMoreâ tab you can set the lights to your circadian rhythms and control the way they wake up from being turned off; selecting from the default white setting, through the last setting somebody left it at, to a custom setting where you can choose the parameters. I guess the latter might help you to get a good starting point if you have a lot of bulbs you need to work together in sync – good luck with that! With all the various light sources, these lamps have to accommodate different types of LED chips and the resulting patterns are not attractive when the lamp is viewed. If used inside a translucent diffuser they will be fine, but viewed directly I think they look odd.I have added pictures of the instructions, which I have numbered as Amazon will mix them up, along with with screen shots from the app and the screen recording, mentioned earlier. There is a lot of complex electronics squeezed into these tiny bulbs they deserve four stars just for fitting it all in.

Bulbs too wide
Have been looking for smart G9 bulbs for a while as a lot of the lamps and light fittings in my house require them and was so excited to see that I could finally get them. Unfortunately the bulbs are too wide to fit into the glass ball that surrounds the bulb – I get theyâve to pack a lot of technology into a small object so hoping that in the future they will be slimmer for I can solve my issue!

Great pair of G9 lights, plenty bright, work well with Alexa.
This pair of lights seems reasonably well made. They came neatly packaged in a cardboard box with a small multi-language manual which is pretty good but you might need your reading glasses because the print is so small. Size wise, the lights are pretty big as far as G9 lights go, but they just fitted my small globe bedside light enclosures. At 4W maximum, they’ll be plenty bright for the bedside light application I needed them for. Brightness and colour temperature are easily adjustable using either the Smartlife App or Alexa.Set up requires the Smartlife app and initially requires you to add the Smartlife skill to Alexa to link Smartlife to your Alexa/Amazon app (assuming you want to use Alexa to control them, which I did). You just need Smartlife to talk via Bluetooth to the lights and pass the information to Alexa via the linked skill. Youâll also need your Wi-Fi password to the same network that Alexa and your phone are on (2.4g only, NOT 5g). For me, I already had Smartlife set up and linked to Alexa, so as soon as I turned on the lights, they were instantly picked up in the Smartlife App on my Android phone (with Bluetooth/Wi-Fi enabled) and Smartlife automatically passed the light discovery to the Alexa app on the phone. Alexa then asked if I wanted to add the light to an existing Room/Group. It really was impressively straightforward.Once everythingâs set up, the lights are easy to control with Alexa voice commands or Alexa app on phone, though they can still be controlled by the Smartlife app if you prefer.I found that the lights remember their last settings even if someone turns off the main light switch powering the lights.Pros ð:âï¸ Good bright, controllable lightsâï¸ Good control via Alexa (and/or Smartlife)âï¸ Variable Brightnessâï¸ Variable colour and colour temperatureâï¸ 1-year warrantyConsð:â NoneIn summary, a good pair of lights which work well with Alexa via the Smartlife app.
