I got this conector to replace a cheaper version that was not rotationally symmetrical. Unfortunately this one also is not such. Although it is of better quality and does appear to be unlikely to put too much strain on the USB port; unlike the cheaper version I used before. When I first plugged it in it worked fine, but the next time it did not. My experience with the previous converter led to to try it the other way up and then it worked fine. I will be needing to change the lead over quite a lot so this is not ideal. If it was to be used for plugging something in all the time it would be great, as it does work properly when the correct way. As stated it does seem to be of good quality and works when the right way up, but because it is not rotationally symmetrical (as is the USB-C standard), it cannot be 5*.

I use laptops in a sidestand, this has helped immeasurably when changing doing station from my modern work laptop with a USB C to my older laptop (personal) fir the docking station. In these days of WFH a lot, its the little things that make a difference. Would recommend.

Very, very slow transfer rate of this cable, total rubbish
The cable works obviously but the transfer speeds are very very very slow. I have a Samsung USB-C flash drive and without using this cable the write speeds was over 250 MB/s But using this adaptor cable the write speed was 37 MB/s. So I would say this cable has a very very slow transfer data transfer rate.
