Blows the X3 out of the Water!
I bought this as an upgrade to the X3 and wow… what a difference! the quality is massively better. I was always a bit disappointed with the X3 images and video, they very soft and fuzzy. However, the X5 looks crisp and sharp by comparison and colours really pop.Before buying this camera, I watched loads of YouTube video and they all raved about this camera – in my opinion, its worth the hype!

Exceeds All Expectations
I just returned from a one-day bicycle trip in Epping Forest with this camera, and it was truly amazing. I had no problems at all — everything worked perfectly. I charged it yesterday, and the battery life was quite good. I took an extra battery with me just in case, but I didn’t need to use it.The colors look very natural — just like you see with your own eyes! Really impressive. I’m completely happy with this camera and will definitely use it again on my next trip. Super product!

I find myself in an unusual position, after a personal apology and reparation I have changed from 1 star to 5 stars, my experience is that most companies dont respond like this but my faith in Insta has been restored. I will leave my original text below which was the case at the time but I am now a happy customer. By the way the product is now performing really well so enjoy.Original text:-Product arrived after all the hype and cannot be activated because the insta 360 app has not been updated on goggle play, tried to get support but no response. So its about as useful as a brick at the moment.All that slick marketing and then this, very surprised as I bought X3 and X4 when they used to care

Great update to the previous model, i plan to do a video soon. There is a issue that a number of other early reviewers have pointed out that can be easily worked around by downloading the updated app directly from insta 360s official site rather than Google playstore. That hasn’t been updated yet. The feature i most was looking for improvement in was the handling of lowlight recording and was really surprised how well it worked. Is it the perfect camera for video? No but for 360 footage and getting insane angles with a next level of creative options. It has to be one of the best out there.

I’ve used many Insta360’s products in the past and I think they have their hardware game locked in. My issue has always been that I can’t be arsed to actually do anything with my footage. So buying another of their cameras made my wife mad at me. But it turned out they updated their app as well! The new version has seriously improved the UI to the point where editing doesn’t feel like a chore anymore. AI features might sound gimmicky, but if you want to quickly create something you can share on social media it does the trick.

Like others, I was a little surprised to see Insta360 already released a new version of their 360 camera. I think it took them nearly 2 years just to go from X3 to X4?? The upgrades they did include that seemed kinda minor actually make a huge difference when I’m shootingDaylight shooting looks largely the same on X5 as it did on X4—sharp, crisp, vibrant, and really smooth. But once the sunlight disappears, you immediately notice how much the bigger sensor improved its low light performance. I think the low light quality is on par with typical point-and-shoot cams, which is wild since 360 action cams notoriously perform poorly in low light situations!And then there’s the sound quality, which I think has always been one of my pain points with Insta360s. But I think X5 fixed this and has some of the best quality on any action cam I’ve ever tried. The built-in windguard finally makes audio usable even when it’s windy or the camera is moving fast with my bikeI also really like the removable lenses, extended battery life, and improved water proofing. The list goes on, but everything together makes for an incredible 360 camera for just about any situation. You don’t need to be a professional content creator to use X5. It shoots flat video just as well as it shoots 360°. The only difference is that X5 gives you the option (and freedom) to choose which format you want to use.I think this is likely going to be my most used camera of 2025!
