The Little Blue Box of Tricks
Update: 10-11-2024 – The replacement dock arrived the day after speaking to customer service, amazing! I have now had the new dock installed for a couple of months, and have only experienced a few disconnections, and I noticed they were specific to Solid State Drives or SSDs. It seems like an SSD compatibility issue as I have noticed SSDs can be flaky over time on other devices like my Samsung TV and PS5? My multiple regular magnetic hard drives do not have the same problem. So my conclusion is the dock works fine, but you may have occasional problems specific to SSDs disconnecting. Power recycling the dock reconnects the SSD. Dual monitors, Hard drives, keyboard & mouse, card readers, USB C, A, and Thunderbolt work fine. Overall still a good product. Back to 5 stars for the excellent customer service.Update: 10-09-2024 â Random DisconnectionsSome reoccurring issues to update on. I have a Macbook Pro M3 Pro 2024. I am currently using all of the 3no rear USB 10Gbps ports, the 2.5 Gigabit port, Dual monitors HDMI and rear USB-C 40gbps, the two upstream USB-C ports, and the front USB-C PD port. I have had the dock running 24/7 for just over a month now, and for the most part it has been fine albeit running a little warm for my liking, but not too hot to touch. However, during that time I have experienced some random disconnections of 3 external hard drives connected to the USB ports, while the monitors, keyboard, and mouse are fine. When this happens there is nothing else for it other than to power cycle the dock, and then the drives reconnect without a problem. This is annoying, especially when carrying out a large data transfer only to find that it has been interrupted because the dock disconnected midway through! The disconnections have occurred at least 3 times over a period of 5 weeks, so I decided to contact Ivanky and seek a solution. Ivanky responded the within 24 hours, and sent me a link to download the latest firmware to update the dock. As an IT professional I have carried out numerous firmware/software updates however, I could not get the firmware setup to initiate, I kept getting an error saying that the file was either damaged or corrupted? (This was the same error that I got with an earlier version of the firmware, when I attempted an update after I first got the dock)? Despite searching on Google/YouTube I could not find any solutions or workarounds to update the firmware.Eventually I gave up and contacted Ivanky again, they responded within 48 hours. Ivanky suggested exchanging the dock FOC for a new one, which I agreed to. I am waiting for Ivanky to get back to me with the shipping details.Although pleased with the dock’s overall build quality and operation, I cannot ignore the random disconnects. I’ll update on how the exchange goes and the performance once the new dock arrives, and I have soaked tested it for at least a month.Original review:This iVanky dock works like a dream, firstly it replaced my 100w charger, then I connected, a KVM, HDMI 4K monitor, USB 3.0 hub, GB ethernet, and 20w PD to a desktop wireless charger. Everything just works like a charm, no problems going into standby or waking up. Basically PnP, and forget. Top quality bit of kit.

Excellent Thunderbolt 4 dock matched with excellent customer services
Bought this dock in April 2024, excellent build quality, stylish a best value for money with excellent balance of usb-c and usb an and video ports. I have previously used the Kensington and Caldigit docks but they do not come close to this. I very recently had a usb c port fail on the front of the dock, I contacted IVANKY customer services who have a few messages quickly replaced the dock via Amazon! I am a full time career and work full time from home so this dock working is invaluable to me! Well done IVANKY .. the measure of customer service is when things go wrong and you came full marks.

Works a lot better with 3rd party Thunderbolt cables
At first I thought this dock had a fault of some sort, it kept randomly disconnecting for a fraction of a second when the host machine was under heavy load, which would cause the monitor to go blank, the network connection to drop, etc. I thought that maybe it was overheating (it does get pretty warm), but in the end the idea that there was an issue with the supplied cable was the issue.I replaced the fancy double-thunderbolt cable supplied with the product with a pair of cheap no-brand Amazon Choice thunderbolt cables, and now the dock is a lot more reliable. Now that the cable issue has been resolved it’s a very capable dock, plenty of connectors, can drive a lot of equipment at once, and is one of the few docks to include a TOSLINK connector for optical out to an amp (I believe OWC also includes this on their dock). It’s a shame that my first impression of it was marred by the iffy cable.

Pricey but works perfectly
I had this running 3 screens on my only intel 2019 MacBook, which they said it didnât work with. Now on my 2023 M3 Mac. Works perfectly, nice easy connection for docking. Neatens up all my cables and give you one single thing to plug in when docking at the office.I did have to buy a two port little extender block thats thin because the supplied connector cable was a big chunky and wouldnât fit with my case in clamshell mode. Minor issue that was easily sorted with a cheap little extender.

Great product
Why aren’t more companies doing this. Works seamlessly on an M1 MacBook Pro

Plug Me Baby One More Time…highly recommended!
If you’re using Mac silicon, there’s really no competition out there.I suppose it’s unsurprising that I find this unit runs quite hot when all ports are being driven at full speed and delivering power; so I’m really glad it has a two-year warranty. From unboxing to powering up, it’s worked perfectly. This Ivanky easily supports (from the combi 2 x Thunderbolt 4 MAC connectors) my primary use-case, namely… a Macbook M1 Pro Max, 3 x 4K screens, Elgato Teleprompter , Elgato WebCam Pro, Scarlett 212i and Rode Mics, Elgato Stream Deck, Wacom tablet, iPad M4 Pro via Continuity (Sidecar); iPhone as an aux camera; USB Stage Lighting.Via this hub, I’ve all this peripheral stuff connected to my Mac via just those two Thunderbolts and I’ve still a free Thunderbolt/USB3 port on the Mac. My trusty Macbook M1 is running a lot cooler too; coz this Ivanky is acting like a hard-core I/O heavy-lifter…You know this already I’m sure; but to remind you:2 upstream Thunderbolt 4 ports (96W)4 downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports (15W)2 HDMI 2.0 ports6 USB-A (10Gbps)2 USB-C (10Gbps, one with 30W PD)2.5Gb EthernetUHS-II SD and microSD card readers3.5mm combo audio jack (front)3.5mm audio out jack (back)Optical audio portC’mon folks, that’s just perfect if you’ve similar needs to mine.So far it’s proved reliable. Time will tell, I suppose.Happy to recommend this iVANKY FusionDock Max 1.

It just works !!!!!! Had it for a 6 months now !!It must have taken then huge amount of efforts to get the hardware right, to get the firmware right.solid . always working. just as good if not better as a apple product.

Iâve used 2 or 3 different TB breakout boxes⦠and for the most part, they were all pretty good. But this one definitely stands out. And both performance and reliability. On many of the other boxes, I would have momentary lapses where there might be a glitch in the output or in the thunderbolt connection⦠very brief and wouldnât happen too often, but it did happen. And again, these were good boxes. But this one is different. It never has freak outs or bad glitch moments. Itâs bulletproof and rock solid. Canât see enough good things about it. If youâre a media professional using a MacBook Pro, then strongly consider getting this box because it will change the way you work.

Good quality and as advertised, but missing DisplayPort to Thunderbolt cable, had to buy that separately.
