Great quality for the money
The spool came in a sturdy box and once opened, the ire was plastic wrapped to the spool to prevent it unwinding.I’ve used this for running speaker cable around a work round skirting board, and the white sheathing helps hide this from sight.Overall the quality of this is excellent and I’m running some fairly large wattage speakers with it. The wire is insulated properly for in wall use to CL3 which is great. I hope to use some of the remaining spool in a garage I’m building for hidden speaker wires.Overall, its great! Well wound, well insulated and the 16awg is enough to push some decent speakers.

High quality cable
The cable I am reviewing is the white insulated stuff for in walls – or not, honestly, it’s just white cable, if you’re not showing off you’d use this against a wall too.The conductors are stranded, and thick, very thick. Honestly it’s overkill, you don’t need this much wire for speakers unless you’re running it for a mile, but this is how it is with audio. 16AWG is apparently enough for 13 amps. You get my point. This is not rated for mains voltage though so I’m just pointing out how thick it is, bell wire it is not.The main thing I was impressed with was how nice the insulation is, it’s just easy to remove and clean and shiny. Reminds me of a reel of brand new CAT-5 cable.So yeah overall if you’re wiring up speakers on reasonably long runs, this is your stuff.

Sound keeps dropping out
I am not overly impressed with this wire. It took a lot of shifting things around to rewire my speakers and i tested them for a good hour after wired up before shifting things back into place. An hour later and the sound starts dropping out every so often and is just of a lower quality all round from my old wiring, speakers sound quieter when they do stay on.I have some old sony tower speakers (about 80 watts if i remember rightly) that i have been using for my pc via a mini amp (which has worked perfectly until now and is less than a month old), the original speaker wire was just regular (no frills) wire 18AWG and worked well with no issues of sound dropping out and from the look and price of this newer stuff i wrongly assumed it would be better than the old which was a quarter of the price of the new. (This is a vine review so price doesn’t effect me as such but i feel it’s important to let people who do pay this for wire that in my experience this one is not worth it.I have checked and double checked all connections and still i’m not able to rely that they won’t cut out so i cannot recommend this wire.It did arrive well packaged and on time.

This is about the third roll of this stuff that I’ve bought and I’m getting ready to buy another one as I move on to the next project of wiring several lighting accessories on my son’s Jeep. This wire is soft and flexible and is holding up well on my other projects.
