JJC petal style bayonet Lens Hood is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. The non-glare matte finish on the inside further prevents or limits lens flare. No vignetting will show with the hood on. The hood can also be placed backwards over the lens for more compact storage. The hood allows you to put on a Ф43mm filter and a Ф43mm lens cap. With the extended lens end, you will also benefit from extra protection from accidental impact. I always make a point of ensuring I have a lens hood for my camera lenses. I dont like the screw in type unless absolutely necessary. Through my time purchasing lenses and hoods I have had a lot of my hoods from JJC and they have always provided excellent quality and a perfect fit to the original from Canon, at a fraction of the price.The reversible nature of the lens hood means I can leave it on the lens and when not needed just reverse the fitting to have nothing pertruding past the lens. 2 seconds later I can be in position ready to shoot with the hood in either orientation.The quality is great and the branding is subtle which I love. The colours more often than not match the lenses perfectly or as close to as possible which is aesthetically pleasing and keeps your kit looking the real deal.Disclosure – I did not receive any product or compensation for this review, this is an honset opinion based on my own experience with this brand.

Does the same job as a Canon original for a fraction of the price
Canon are infamous for rarely supplying a hood with their non-L series lenses and charging quite a premium for hoods as a separate item. A lens hood is a simple enough device so anyone that produces a compatible hood for a good price is onto a winner.This JJC hood is a lovely fit with a positive locking click when put in place. Nobody would even know it’s not a Canon hood without looking at it close up, which is a pretty good recommendation in itself.
