Ultra-thin laptops and 2-in-1 convertibles like the Microsoft Surface Pro offer great mobile productivity and sleek looks. But that also means they usually come up short on connectivity ports. As a result, you’re constantly plugging and unplugging peripherals. That’s where the SD3500v USB 3.0 universal docking station comes in. It turns one USB port into six so you have access to all your peripherals, including keyboard, mouse, printer and external hard drive. And with dual HD video output, you can add two external monitors to boost productivity. The dock’s two USB 3.0 ports support super-speed data transfer of up to 5 Gbps.
CONNECT TWO ADDITIONAL SCREENS WITH 1 DVI OUT & 1 HDMI OUT – Expand your workspace by adding additional monitors. Connect your DVI monitor to the DVI port or use the included DVI>VGA adapter to connect your VGA monitor. You can run both the DVI and HDMI ports simultaneously
EXTEND MODE – Extend your workspace by making it bigger. Extend mode allows you to share your whole desktop across multiple screens. Ideal for improved productivity by working with, and viewing, multiple applications at the same time
CLONE MODE – Allows you to replicate the same content on your second display as you do on your master display. Compatibility: Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7, macOS 10.14
2 FRONT USB 3.0 PORTS – Two fast and powerful USB 3.0 ports are positioned on the front of the dock for when you want to charge a phone or tablet, or transfer data from another device. Headphone and microphone input ports are also conveniently within reach when they’re needed
4 REAR USB 2.0 PORTS – Connect all your peripherals with 4 USB ports. These ports are strategically located on the back of the docking station to help keep your printer, keyboard and mice cables or wireless dongles hidden from view
DISPLAY SETTINGS SOFTWARE – Our intuitive display management console sits on your applications bar and allows you to easily switch between display modes, change the master monitor or adjust alignment and position of your screens
ADD MORE SCREENS – You can hook up even more monitors using a multi-display adapter, which is available separately. These connect into one of the six USB ports and can be used with DVI or VGA monitors
Customers say
Customers find the docking station works well with Windows 8.1 and is easy to set up, with laptops connecting in seconds. The device provides great additional USB ports and is particularly useful for multi-screen setups. Customers appreciate its build quality and consider it good value for money.

As new and works perfectly
A great price for a hub which costs £125 new. Very quick delivery and well packed.

Great hub allowing three displays!
I wanted to use this hub to extend my laptop display to two external monitors plus the laptop screen and it works brilliantly! I have only one HDMI port in my laptop but this hub allows me to use a HDMI and a DVI to HDMI adapter (included in the kit) to connect the two external monitors. I also have my wireless mouse, keyboard, and external speakers connected to the hub via 3 of the 4 USBs, which is keeping my laptop’s USB ports free. Even better, I can tuck the hub away so that I’m not surrounded by a mass of cables, as I was before the hub arrived.Installation was incredibly easy. I plugged in the hub into a USB3.0 and it worked instantly. I had to update my DisplayLink drivers to allow the monitors to work but that took about 30 seconds. I hadn’t expected to get setup so quickly. If you’re looking for a way to extend your screen via USB and your laptop can support DisplayLink, this is a great solution!

Great for home office working whilst being easy to disconnect laptop for use on the road
Brought this dock because I was having to unplug 7 cables from my laptop when I went out from my home office.I would say it is quite expensive for what you get, however sometimes quality costs. It was very easy to install and set up, connections to my two external screens was quick and simple. This also has the advantage of a wired network connection which is more suited, with better quality for video meetings.I have only has one issue with this dock, both external screens froze while the laptop screen continued with no problem. The dock required a reboot (unplug the power) and once done all worked fine.

Fantastic little device
Fantastic little device. I have an HDMI 24″ monitor connected to one output, a DVI 24″ monitor connected to the other, and my laptop screen giving me a third – all set up for extended so I can span across all three screens from left to right. I tried to setup the second 24″ monitor using the supplied DVI to HDMI converter but it wouldn’t work so I used the DVI interface instead. Same quality so not a problem. I am amazed that from one USB3 port I have a 1 Gig network connection, 6 USB ports, two monitor outputs, and a sound input/output. I have even bought a second unit for the office. Works perfectly with Windows 8.1 but you do need to download the latest software from their site.

One USB plug and your external monitor, wired LAN, keyboard, mouse and loads of USB ports instantly available
Bought this unit to work with my wife’s Surface Pro 4 (Windows 10). Pugged it in, followed the download instructions for the latest software (so ignored included CD) and up and running in about 15 minutes, with external monitor with crisp, flicker-free viewing at high res. Keyboard / mouse, wired LAN at Gigabit speed and loads of USB ports, including USB3 front-facing sockets. Requires one 13A socket for a power brick. Once software installed, all subsequent connections have been simple since – connect one USB cable and you are on! Recommended.Eight months later – as delighted as ever! Since the above review took another PC (Samsung Notebook) and plugged it in to the USB port – all installed no hassle, without need for CD or manual install of drivers. I came back to this review only as I am about to buy another unit!

Does not work with Apple Yosemite OS
I purchased this docking station to allow me to use a Macbook Air with an external monitor. At this it fails as the Display Link software is not fully compatible with Yosemite. Two problems – when installed the DisplayLink driver prevents an external USB camera working with applications such as Skype (as one of the main reasons for going down this route was to be able to use an external web cam this is a major negative). Second is that the driver installs as separate display, that is always ‘there’ even if you are not connected to a display link.Rather than 1 star (which I would give the software) the 3 stars represent the use of the docking station as a great source of additional USB ports – though with hindsight an expensive solution to this particular problem.

Excellent product …but needs an ON/OFF switch
So useful, very pleased and buying another.Connect it to your PC, take a few seconds to configure all the monitors and the settings are remembered forever. Laptops are connected in seconds. You can plug in your earphones and few more usb devices. Now the whole family can share the same desk but use their own computers without the kids adding viruses to mine!My only snag is there’s no on/off button. Sometimes I connect my work laptop to it and it doesn’t signal the monitors to change or wake-up. However this is a tiny inconvenience where i just unplug the power and replug it again.
