Excellent if you value battery life and low noise
I bought the 16GB / 512GB / OLED model. It is fast, well built, light, and the screen is beautiful. The speakers are definitely above average, but nothing to write home about when compared to more premium devices. The fan is either off or quiet when performance is set to ‘power efficiency’ or ‘balanced’ mode, but it’s noticeable when on ‘high performance’ mode. The fan sound profile is a pleasant whoosh and there are no abrasive frequencies or whistles. If you want a laptop that will be quiet while you do everyday tasks and light gaming, I thoroughly recommend this one. I am VERY sensitive to fan noise, so if you’re like me in that respect then you can buy with confidence.Note that as this laptop has an ARM processor, some applications won’t be compatible with it, although the Prism emulation has handled 90% of what I’ve thrown at it just fine. Apps that tend not to be compatible are ones that interact heavily with drivers, but even some of those have an ARM version available to install.AVX support is coming to Windows on ARM, so gaming compatibility is set to be much greater. Don’t expect to play anything too demanding on this, though – set your aspirations to 4X strategy games, roguelikes, 2D, and older games (pre-2020) to avoid disappointment. It runs The Sims 4 perfectly. Some games with anti-cheat won’t work at all, so don’t buy this if you want to play competitive online games. The battery life is excellent when in power efficiency mode – you’d be looking at about 13 hours of use if the screen is set to 40% brightness and you’re doing light tasks such as Word, Excel, general web browsing. Expect a little less if streaming videos. If you’re gaming on balanced mode, expect between 4 – 6 hours from a full charge. When put to sleep in the evening and left overnight, the laptop loses around 5% of its power by the middle of the next day.The port selection is generous for a modern laptop.Well worth the money when it’s on offer (I got it for £599) but you’d probably be better off spending a bit extra and getting an M4 Macbook Air if the normal price is closer to £800.

Brilliant
This Chromebook is brilliant. I’ve used it more as a tablet so far to play games on, the play store is available on here and easy to use. Everything on the tablet is very easy to manoeuvre, especially if you’re already accustomed to using android systems, though even if not it shouldn’t take too long to get used to. The first start up you need to download a few updates and have a few restarts before you can get going, but they don’t take too long to do.So far I’ve only used the tablet for some internet browsing and downloading and playing games. Everything has worked quickly, even turning on the tablet is very quick. The pen comes with the 8gb RAM option, it is the first time I’ve used one of these so I can’t compare to others, but it does the job it’s supposed to do, it’s much more accurate than a simple stylus and I had fun using the handwriting app to have a play, watching it turn my writing into typed text. I use it a bit while playing some games, but can see it would be great for someone that creates art on their tablets. The keyboard is very easy to attach, it has a strong magnet that snaps it into place and it works straight away, there’s no loading time or anything, just snap it on and off as and when needed. It works well and feels just like a normal small laptop. The case is very sturdy, it too as magnetic so it snaps into place. I was concerned when reading at the time of purchase that the stand would wear out quite quickly with it being in use a lot but it’s definitely strong. It has hinges on it so it’s not just some bendy material that will wear out, so it’s made very well and I can see it lasting a long time. The case itself is also very smart looking. The only issue I could find is that you have to have the keyboard attached so that the screen has some protection. So if you are taking it out and only need the tablet, you will still need to take the keyboard with you. It’s only a small issue really as the keyboard isn’t adding a drastic amount of weight or anything, it’s more about having the option of taking it with you or not.Overall I absolutely love this tablet, it’s built well, very sturdy accessories and definitely worth the money spent on it, great value product.

Good for students!
I purchased this Chromebook as a replacement for my 2015 MacBook Air.I’m a student at University and after my first year I wanted something I could use to write notes during lectures but also type on if I wanted. This Chromebook mostly delivers on that.I found it extremely difficult to find reviews where the reviewer spoke about the hand writing with the stylus. It’s pretty good, totally useable if not quite as good as say an iPad. I would rate it at maybe 90% as good. The keyboard is OK, you can smash out emails or type out lecture notes. But I would not want to type an assignment on this thing it’s a little cramped. The track pad is mediocre. I read some reviews that said it was OK but I struggle to use it, it’s a little bit too small and lacks the sensitivity of say a MacBook. The display is fab, nice colours and contrast ratio. I have never had a problem using it indoors but can’t comment on it’s outdoors performance. The battery life is fantastic. On 100% it’s showing as over 10 hours and I can absolutely believe that.Connectivity is also great, the USB C connections means connecting to an external display is super easy and my Uni recently added these to the library. It turns my little Chromebook into a proper tool.Installing the Microsoft Office web apps was a breeze through my Uni account, although performance even on the 8GB model is a little sluggish. But once booted up it works fine.Recommended for light use, if you’re considering this to be a direct and only replacement for a laptop then I’d consider a different Chromebook. BUT if you’re in the market for a kind of tablet kind of laptop that’s super easy to take with you then I’d recommend it.
