Fantastic mouse & keyboard combo for the price, easily one of the best budget hall effect boards
The board and mouse both arrived in their own retail packaging that was combined and packed into a larger Attack Shark cardboard box that kept them together and well protected. As usual for any products from Mambasnake or Attack Shark, both parts were packed into professional looking boxes with the expected cables and a helpful set of multi-language instructions.The overall appearance of the board and mouse is great, everything is produced to an excellent standard with no blemishes to be found. It also has a nice looking clear anodised aluminium plate which does a good job of reflecting the light from the leds up from the bottom of the keycaps. Itâs also got a surprising heft to it so itâs safe to assume theyâve added something to the case to make it heavier and adjust the sound profile. I wasnât super sure I’d like the design on the doubleshot keycaps, but itâs grown on me as I’ve used the board. The only thing to be aware of with the keycaps is that theyâre essentially blank keycaps unless the backlights are on, which may bother some people, though I donât particularly mind.The board has Outemu branded switches which is reassuring, though I havenât been able to find the exact switch used anywhere online. Visually they look similar to the Ocean Silent switches from Outemu if you go by the stem and shell colours, but theyâre significantly different switches once you look closer. Maybe theyâre specifically made for Attack Shark for now and weâll see the loose versions of the switches in the future. But at the very least the switches do check out as magnetic and are as described, theyâre a relatively lightweight linear switch. They feel great to game or type on and if youâre a fan of lightweight, quiet and smooth linear switches youâll be right at home, and thatâs before you mess around with the options in the software.As for the mouse itâs pretty good and is better than I expected, Iâd kinda written it off as a cheap inclusion to justify upping the cost of the combo, but itâs genuinely a great mouse. Iâm super happy with my current Deathadder V3 because of the special sauce coating Razer have on it, but if anything ever happens to that mouse I’d have no issues swapping to the X11 from Attack Shark.The fact that youâve got the options of wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4ghz make both the mouse and keyboard fantastic for gamers on both sides of the fence when it comes to wired vs wireless. The 2.4ghz seems to be very well implemented & robust, it’s indistinguishable from wired and I havenât had any dropouts or strangeness due to interference etc.The value for money is hard to fault if youâre specifically in need of both a mouse and a board, especially once you knock off the 15% with the voucher, bringing it down to £84.99. A hall effect keyboard of this size with BT & 2.4ghz will easily set you back £60-£70 on its own, so getting a lightweight wireless mouse with some decent specs for an extra £15-£25 is a good deal if you need both at once. Though with that said, even if you just want the X65PRO HE, thatâs £78 on its own, so itâs worth throwing them the extra £7 just to get the mouse as a spare.
