Great potential for any parent wanting a secure way to keep in contact with their child
The Maxcom FW59 Kiddo, stands out in an otherwise crowded ‘Kids Smart Watch’, insomuch as this is an actual phone with internet connection built in, and that as we have discovered, does raise some issues with children being ‘connected’ without parental supervision, but I can say that when coupled together with the ‘Tracker App’. the parents is very much in control at all times.Without any connection, the FW59 will operate as a digital watch, collecting the wearers steps total, providing some fun activities with the included games, and providing a selfie camera, albeit low quality images and a calculator, so no app or SIM card required at this point.With a SIM card and the Tracker app installed on the parents phone, the FW59 opens up all the options to Track your Childs whereabouts, set alerts for when they start outside or inside a set area, allows video calls, but only to the owner and registered parent via the Tracker app, and more importantly, allow the child to use the ‘SOS’ function by holding down on the ‘on/off’ button, which will then alert and call the person the parent has set up as an emergency contact via the app.The watch is able to make and receive phone calls, but again, this can be set to only ‘contacts’, and these are set via the app and not the watch directly, you also have the ability to block all unknown incoming calls.The watch itself does not accept ‘messages’, so no random text messages, but video clips can be sent to the watch by the parent, and the child can reply to these.You have then ability to set various ‘security settings’, for instance, the watch can one put into ‘Digital Watch Mode’ when the child is at school, so that it will only operate with basic functionality during the day.I have been informed by my brother that setting up the watch with the app, wasn’t the easiest, as some of the instructions were in English, then other parts were in, we think Polish, the manual tended to swap between the two at various sections.So at present, the nephew is wearing the watch, just as a basic watch, we have a Pay s You Go data sim for him, but his parents are a little unsure, there are a lot of settings that they need to be happy with, and fully understand, but that said, we have all agreed that its certainly better than providing the children with a SMART Phone at this age, and the potential to provide the parent with peace of mind, knowing where there children are, and knowing that in an emergency, the child can contact them, really does make the Maxcom FW59 worthy of your consideration.
