Very tight fit
Bought this to use my makita batteries on my new Ryobi nail gun. The adapter does work, however I found it to be a very tight fit trying to attach the battery.

I only need one type of battery
I have a few of these, not all the same make, and they mean I can buy cheaper Ryobi tools I use occasionally (e.g. my lawnmower, leaf blower and my strimmer, all bought used) and use my DeWalt batteries so only one charger needed. In the Ryobi lawnmower it’s a bit of a snug fit but works perfectly. So simple and useful.

It just works
I have had fabulous results with Ryobi tools, well made and excellent quality, the only negative is the Li-Ion battery system and specifically removing them from a tool requires large hands as the release clips are on the sides of the battery packs which is a maximum finger span for me and a total impossibility for my partner. Recently added a Ryobi strimmer to the collection, again a fabulous bit of kit but this time around, maybe because it is new, but getting a spent battery off it is a major struggle. I have some Dewalt power tools and several batteries so the idea of a battery adaptor to use the Dewalt battery packs seemed ideal. The DM18RL adapter snaps on positively, a Dewalt battery also – it just works – perfectly.
