Poor instructions caused damage to my boile
This item is poorly described the instructions confusing causing damage to my boiler the switch g outputs 240 vol not a switched output this has caused £300 of damage to my boiler and 2 days no heat or hotwater it’s a disgrace that the seller did not highlight this important fact in the description the instructions supplied were very poor no indication that there is 2 types of controller one safe one not very disappointed in this seller and the item suppliedð

Easy to install and use
Ran a new supply line dropped into stud wall by making a penetration for the switchgear and connected up. linked to app and WiFi in seconds. Programmed through the app.Custom calibration of the temp tomorrow once my reference sensor has acclimatised. It came offset by -2 deg.

Great for the price.
Purchased this not expecting much, but pleasantly surprised. First item I got from Amazon warehouse was faulty as time did not remain set and changed everytime the mode was changed, however replacement unit worked fine. Super easy to replace if you already have a recessed wall box. Fit perfectly. Instructions lacking for anybody who is not competent in boiler wiring, so be careful. You essentially have options depending on what wiring you have available. Don’t make the mistake some have made by sending 240v down a switch wire to your boiler PCB if thats not how it’s designed. Set up with smart life app was instant and simple, and the app functionality is really quite good with 5+2 or 7 day mode. 6 settings per day. More advanced settings too such as frost protection, and can adjust temperature reading +/- if it’s not accurate. The only downside is how it works with Google home, as there are glitches here. However I am more than happy just using smart life appand it’s various automations ( such as automatic shutdown of boiler if my location shows I’m away from home. All in all a fantastic budget option to be able to change the boiler temperature on my phone without getting off my ass!

Hooked up to the smart life app pretty easily
I got this to control the thermostat when we are in mum’s room and need to adjust the settings from thereThe initial install was not too complicated and since I have been using the smart life app for a while around the house. Hooking it up to the app was pretty simple.I did find the unit itself was deeper than our original one but not excessively soSeems to work ok via our phone as the primary source of control. There is a backlit screen which turns off after a while but we find it a little confusing using that as the manual is not clear on some aspects. it is just easier using the phone controls rather than having to work out screen controls

Either I got a bad one or everyone else is not scrutinising there’s enough.
The installation was easy I just replaced a Salus 500 that I had been happy with for years.The first thing I noticed was that when I went from Program mode to Manual mode the clock jumped about in time. The clock jumped anything up to 45 minutes on the plus side. This was all on the first day of install.Day 2 with the clock set manually the night before the time was 6 minutes out in the morning. When the timer and temperature kicked the boiler in I noticed that within 10 minutes of startup the temperature of the internal sensor had risen by a degree probably buy some relay putting the power on. So even the temperature isn’t right. So I am starting a return. 🙁

Excellent Budget Smart Roomstat
Perfect to give you remote control via app of your heating and other devices. It requires 240v Pos and Neg connection to allow the Roomstat to work. The stat will switch 240v on off or dry contacts as a volt less switch for modern combi boilers etc.

Works but instructions which I asked for don’t explain the simple things like setting the clock.
I just use the app anyway so the functions on the display don’t really matter to me .The app works pretty well . Time will tell on reliability. 6 month update now one unit won’t connect to WiFi!!! Just getting ready for the winter season and discovered.
