real bargain. well impressed.needed a new media pc for our living room TV. had to be silent and capable of 4k Netflix etc.replaced ssd before i powered it up, so to have clean and trusted win11. did clean install and all OK, no problems and licence installed automatically (in bios as someone else mentioned.)gets warm, as expected as fanless,, but not at all hot (but prob not maxed it out))really solid build and well engineered.all connectivity seems fine so far.

There are many N100 mini PCs to choose from. This unit is very well built and is all metal. I use this pc remotely so the external antennas were a big plus in the design. I use it for astrophotography and it handles this very well. It is quite heavy so not every one will want it fitted to the OTA.Note, it needs plenty of ventilation if you plan to run intensive tasks for a long time on hot days/nights.

The Minix Z100 is a really well put together box, surprisingly dense and with a good selection of ports. I bought the 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD discounted to a very reasonable £190. The intention is to use it to run steamed TV such as BBC iplayer and it seems to do that very well. As delivered the box ran quite hot so looking online I found that you can throttle the thermal envelope that the Intel N100 runs within and that seems to have really helped, without hampering the performance. If you want to do the same then look online for details of the P1 and P2 settings in the BIOS and the CTRL F1 keystroke to gain access, be careful when changing things!

I am very impressed with this mini PC. I connected my Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, headphones and speakers and it all works great. The wireless networking connection is much faster than my old computer. Watching videos on youtube works also great. This little PC does all that I am doing on computer which is watching videos, reading articles and email. The mini PC is better than I expected and I would buy it again. As a bonus there is no fan noise. My second computer from Minix. The heatsink gets fairly hot though but the system runs stable.

After testing one of these we purchased 20 total for use in a manufacturing environment on the shop floor. We’ve used Minix devices in the past and had very few issues (a couple failing SSD’s after multiple years of 24×7 use). Decided to try these as the fanless form factor will prevent dust collecting inside the unit. So far, so good. Seems to have similar wifi reception compared to older Minix units. We don’t use the bluetooth functionality, so I can’t speak to that. Basically the only thing we use these for is to run a browser to connect to our ERP software and open PDF’s of part prints. These are overkill for that use, but we also expect them to last 5-7 years (or more) like our previous Minix devices have. For what it’s worth, these install Windows updates much faster than the Z150. I’m guessing that performance gain would follow into higher load use cases than ours. I don’t think I’d use it for any type of FPS gaming, but office apps, web browsing, and 1080p (maybe 4k?) video streaming should be no problem at all.The only odd things I’ve noticed is that all have been configured for English (United Kingdom) as the Windows language instead of English (US). There also seems to be an Edge Extension – Google Docs Offline – that is pre-installed and we removed. Other than that, they have all activated Windows and no other problems or odd software noted with the first 7 or so.My one improvement suggestion would be with the VESA mount. In our environment, it would be great to have something to secure the device to the mount. As designed, it is basically held in place by gravity. In a home or office setting, this would be no problem at all. In a manufacturing environment, I worry about someone bumping the stand they are mounted on or the cables and knocking it up just enough to slip off the mounting tabs.When looking at the price for Windows 11 Pro licenses, CPU, RAM, and SSD’s, I’m still not sure how they manufacture an entire computer for these prices. I will update this review if we have any troubles, but I’m liking what I see so far!
