Solve a huge problem in my house. Old house with no ability to run ethernet anywhere and mesh. Wi-Fi does not work super well. Running mocha with this device as far superior to the other mocha devices because it has a POE Landport. I use a TP link Gateway with multiple access points around the house and I donât need to plug in the access points. Separately works really well pretty amazed with how well it functions actually.

Ich habe ein Haus aus den 90ern und hier ist nix mit Kabelschächten. Die wesentlichen Netzwerkteile habe ich mit wunderschönen aufgeklebten Kabelschächten quer durchs Haus verbunden, aber damit das ganze Haus abzudecken wäre hässlich und eine elende Arbeit. Mit zahlreichen schlechten Erfahrungen in der Vergangenheit mit Powerline war ich recht skeptisch, was MoCA angeht, aber es kam auf einen Versuch an. In den meisten Zimmern liegt ein Coaxanschluss, der wegen dieses neuartigen Internetzdingens nicht genutzt wird. Im Keller war neben des Serverraums der Kabeleingang und damit ein Zugriffspunkt für die Coaxverkabelung. Den AuÃenanschluss habe ich abgetrennt und dort meinen ersten MoAC Adapter angebracht und mit dem Hauptswitch verbunden. Dann am anderen Ende vom Haus probehalber einen Rechner ans Coax mit dem zweiten Adapter gehangen. Per iperf3 habe ich mal einen Test zwischen diesem Rechner und einem anderen Rechner im netz gemacht. Man muss dazu sagen, dass ich ânurâ ein Gigabit Netzwerk habe, also die 2,5 Gbit die hier angegeben werden nicht ausreizen kann. Mit iperf3 hatte ich dann im Schnitt 940 Mbit, ohne den restlichen Netzwerkverkehr ausgeschaltet zu haben, es waren also nicht mal Idealbedingungen und das Gigabit Netzwerk wurde quasi ausgelastet. Ich habe gleich die nächsten Adapter bestellt, um meine mesh-repeater künftig dahinter zu hängen. Eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

As far as I know, this is the only MoCA adapter that offers PoE for powering devices. This makes it a great option for powering things like wireless access points. I used this to create a wired backhaul for my unifi network. The PoE powers a U7 Lite with no problem. This has tripled my download speed on my wireless AP.

Problemstellung war einen Unifi AP U6Pro im 1. Stock vom Keller aus zu versorgen. Das hat bisher nur “brauchbar” funktioniert. Ãber Powerline Adapter oder auch via Mesh zu einem anderen AP im Erdgeschoss war das immer nur ein Notbehelf und nie mit voller Performance. Da vom Keller bis in den Dachboden über dem 1. Stock Koax Kabel verlegt sind, wurde dieses MoCA Kit angeschafft. Die Inbetriebnahme ist super einfach, nur kurz die IP Adressen beider Adapter an das passende LAN angepasst, und nach einigen Sekunden stand die Verbindung. Ãber ein 25 Jahre altes Koax Kabel sind hier die angegebenen 2,5 Gigabit nutzbar. Nun kann auch der AP seine vollen 1 Gigabit nutzen. Dank PoE+ kann der Unifi U6Pro direkt über den Adapter betrieben werden. Perfekte Lösung zu einem super Preis. Es wurde gleich noch ein weiteres Kit (ohne PoE dafür mit zwei 2,5 Gbit Anschlüssen) angeschafft. Das versorgt nun ein weiteres Zimmer im 1.OG mit vollem 2,5G Ethernet. Perfekt.
