Great thermostat and easy to install.
🌡️ I bought this thermometer to control the heating in my home and to replace a Honeywell thermostat that has failed. I have Home Assistant automation running, and having Zigbee communication is another important feature to me. This thermostat comes in different flavours depending on what part of a heating system you want to control—underfloor heating, for example.🌡️ The thermostat is easy to install and mimics the wiring of my existing thermostat. The biggest problem was installing a pattress box, but that was a problem with my cavity wall and not because of the product. I used a 35mm plastic box because I wanted the best Zigbee signal possible and thought that a metal box would attenuate the signal slightly. I may have been too cautious, and a metal box would have been easier. Having said that, once the plastic box is in place, it does make a level and tidy installation. I now just need to fix up the wall slightly. Electricity supply is from the boiler itself, so to power the unit continuously, I leave the heating set to on at the boiler, and control the heat demand from the thermostat and also a scene switch to set various behaviours. One thing to note: don’t use the supplied screws as they have a different thread to the M3.5 pattress screws used in the UK.🌡️ Pairing was very easy with Home Assistant under ZHA. The thermostat appears as a device where you can add the heating control to your dashboard, as well as part of the climate controls, where more of the features are exposed. I have set up some simple automations to control the thermostat in manual mode and set the temperature to 15 degrees, plus 5 degrees for frost protection. I can set the thermostat to “heat” for a number of minutes and see an activity graph. I should soon be able to integrate some of the other temperature sensors around the house for more global control. My home automation system also has a holiday mode, and I can have the heating remain in five-degree frost mode during that time and warm the house on the day that we return. The possibilities are endless, but you do have to know what you are doing with home automation. I think that the value is great, and I am really pleased with the purchase. ✔️

I like how easily this integrates into my zigbee network. Needed a custom quirk in Home Assistant though. Biggest disappointment was the time drift. I have two of these devices and they both have trouble keeping time. Pointless to set time based programs, time drifts >30 minutes a week. I wanted devices that would be manual but report status to HA. Manual config is useless because of the time drift so now running everything through automations in HA. Manufacturer support recommend resetting the time whenever it drifts too far, which is every other day.

J’ai apprécié que le contact du thermostat soit sec, ce qui permet d’avoir une source d’alimentation différente de celle du contact. Pour le fonctionnement du ZIGBEE 3, quand on a compris que la passerelle se trouvait au même niveau produit que les autres produits connectés, alors on n’a plus aucun problème!Noter quand même que le connecteur de la carte est un peu fragile car j’ai dû acheter 2 fois le thermostat après avoir arraché le connecteur lors du branchement. Utilier obligatoiremnt des boîtes de profondeur 50mm, sinon, c’est impossible!
