Works just as intended – east to fit!
I had a budget AM4 motherboard so not exactly old, but there was no USB 3.0 header to attach the front panel USB 3.0 port of the PC case. There was a spare/extra USB 2.0 header on the board so I used this adapter to connect it up to that. Works as intended and easy to fit and reasonably priced so all good.

use 19 pin front header on 9 pin motherboard header.
useful item.Use front USB ports on case as USB 2 when you run out of 19 pin motherboard headers. On cases with one front usb 3 and usb 2 port, can use this to connect to a single usb2 header along with the single usb 2. Just swap the 4 pins from the usb 2 cable to the unused side of this one. Fiddly but saves wasting a port.

Very badly made
Very badly made. when pushed into motherboard connector quite a few pins get pushed out. Heat shrink material too large to be shrunk properly onto cables.Go for a more expensive, better made adapter. Don’t recommend this version.

Very good quality cable
Worked perfectly on my machine.High quality cable with good price.I recommend it to anyone with case that only supports USB 3.0 headers.

Worked perfectly!
Worked great, had an old motherboard in a more modern case, this meant the front USB ports could still be functional.

Useful for older motherboards in newer cases
I bought a new case for an aging 1st gen i5 motherboard, and found that there was one USB 3 socket at the front of the case that was unusable, as the motherboard only had USB 2. This adapter allowed me to use the USB 3 socket, albeit at USB 2 speeds. Perfect.

Not great quality – bent pins upon receiving
Bent pins upon receiving this and generally can feel itâs not great quality. 3* though as though this is an issue and Iâll return, it was very very cheap
