    A useful tool.
This tool is well-designed and well-made.It looks to be made of reasonably-good quality stainless steel. You have the option of two different tips: one has a short, flat blade; the other end is pointed. You adjust the width of the tool using four screw-locks, which work well enough. Can’t really fault this tool.

    Essential
Essential piece of kit for any photographer, within 8 hours of delivery its helped me to clean a very dusty lens and bring it back in use also a lens with the dreaded fungus in the rear element, that and a good dollop of isopropyl, all In all a must have!!

Gets the job done but not the Best.
It’s not really the best as I found one of the screws coming loose during use at any given time. It made it very difficult to use because of this.I would recommend using a multitool or pliers on all of the screw points once you’ve got your size. It was the best way to keep things solid.

    Great tool for specific job
It’s nearly impossible to open some camera lenses without this tool. It’s a very specific use but comes in handy when needed. It has 2 double ended sides, one with a flathead style driver and another with a sharp point. Great build quality, can be tricky to secure to the correct size at the start but with practice it gets easier and helped me open up and clean some vintage lenses with internal fungus.

    Ok
They do the job nicely but the set screws seem slightly too small for the threaded holes and they are constantly falling out.Overall the inward curved tips are a must in my experience.

worth having in the tool box
having bought a 2nd hand lens I noticed some dust inside which needed removing. This fitted the front lens perfectly and easily removed and reinstalled it. I have seen some reports that the tips on this type of tool can bend and twist. From my admittedly limited experience I would suggest that it would be necessary to apply a fair degree of force to bend these – to the extent that the lens is more likely to fail first. I chose a very warm day and left the lens in the sun for a couple of hours such that all of the lens components were allowed to expand. Despite this lens being probably 20 years old it came apart with ease. Recommended.

Very versatile spanner wrench for precision equipment.
I purchased this for repairing vintage cameras. Although the specification of minimum opening is stated 5 mm, I could adjust it up to 4 mm using bent pointed tip to remove shutter speed setting dial. Obviously removal of lens holding ring is not problem using flat tip provided that it has key slots. You may need rubber ring removal tool if the grip ring or lens has no slots. The four screw locking design makes reasonably rigid tool structure and tips for both pointed and flat are hard enough to stand mechanical stress. I don’t know why this tool is specifically stated for DSLR camera, but this tool has universal applications including vintage cameras body, lenses and other precision equipment.

    Works great
Neewer Camera Lens Opening Repairing Tool. Bought it to take apart a Helios lens and have also used it to dismantle and repair a Zenit camera, which needed the pointed bits to remove the rewind lever cover. Works great, but be careful not to slip whilst using it and damage the item being dismantled. Far easier than trying to use two screwdrivers & three hands & less likely to slip and cause damage. I bought this version rather than the slightly cheaper one as the photo shows this one has a selection of bits. Will also work for some watch back removal and other items having slotted nuts.

For the price this is the best you can buy. The slanted tips help opening some rings that are installed under advance levers or other knobs, the straight ones won’t be able to grab the slots. You can also flip them around to catch the notches inside the lens rings, again it might be harder with the straight tips, if you are working on a large lens with a very thin ring. Sometimes the screws get loose while working with it and the tool starts wobbling but at this price I can’t go wrong, it also depends how often you need to open a lens or a camera. If you are doing it often or professionally, you might be happier with a more advanced one. The second photo is just to give you an idea, the Nikkormat does not have a ring under the rewind knob, but the photo shows what I mean by the “slanted” tips.

Specjalnie kupiłem to narzędzie w celu pracy z elementem wymagającym 5mm rozstawu ramion. I niestety rozczarowanie. Jeśli szukacie solidnego narzędzia z regulacja OD 10 mm to mogę polecić ten produkt. Jeśli interesuje Was mniejszy rozstaw ramion, to musicie szukać innego produktu.
