Excellent security
Very solid, sturdy patio door handle locking bar. Very easy to use, simply place wide tubes onto handles, turn little screw knob! No keys to lose! Ordering was easy, delivery was really swift. Can recommend this item – and it is much less costly than others on the market – but excellent quality and value.

CHEAP AND CHEARFULL BUT DOES THE JOB
First off anyone with a recently fitted door system probably wont need this item. modern Fensa approved doors have security features that mean the door handles if ‘forced’ will snap and not allow access through them . However if like me you have a mix of old and new double glazing then this item comes into its own. Simple to use and very basic it provides a visual and physical deterrent to an intruder. it can be fitted and removed in seconds and does not require great strength or dexterity. quality wise it appears from the feel and weight to be ‘light steel’ its certainly not got a lot ‘oomph’ to the touch however when fitted and the 2 tubes overlap then i’m sure it would require considerable strength to try and open a set of doors with this fitted… i hope it never faces the test. its certainly at the ‘cheap’ end of the patio door lock systems but appears adequate for my needs.

Brilliant product
This is a very simple and effective way to prevent patio door handles being used to access your property.I had it on my door handles within 5 minutes of it being delivered.It is also very easy to take off.I would imagine that it would fit a range of different types of handles and sizes.It is a quality product which can be felt through the weight of the product.It doesnât look obtrusive yet provides a visual deterrent to any potential burglars.It may not prevent burglaries completely but is an excellent, inexpensive measure to decrease the chances.I would highly recommend to anyone who has patio doors.

Budget French door lock
A French door lock, half the price of the cheapest âpatlockâ I could find but works in the same manner.This is a funny looking lock, it does look rather like something â Uncle Bob â would knock up in his shed, itâs a two part metal tube, with each side having a loop welded to the base, the tow tubes are held in place with a screw which pinches the thinner inner half of the tube in position.It fits easily, however it is a little loose and it can be positioned so that the main bar sits above the handles or underneath the handles. I initially positioned the bar above the handles but when I knocked it it flopped down underneath them- luckily it makes no difference to the locks effectiveness at all.It is easy to lock in place, you simply screw the locking screw in until it pinches the two parts together, to unlock you do the reverse, it takes moments at most and this is important if you need to get out in case of an emergency.The lock fits all the door handles I have ( two sets of French doors and porch doors) with room to spare.This lock vs the patlock.What this lacks that the pat lock has is visibility, you can nearly see the bar from the outside of the door, unlike the patlock ( which I also own) which you can clearly see from the outside. I would have liked some more visibility as this is a big thing when it comes to deterring a thief and has been known to move them on to other, less well protective properties.The patlock also has a bar top and bottom to secure the lock, this lock only has a choice of the bar at the top OR the bottom of the handles.Lastly the patlock is quicker to remove with a squeeze rather than having to unscrew a screw type lock, making it better for emergency exits.For these features you are paying a premium and whilst this lock doesnât have the features I mentioned it is less than half the price than the cheapest one I could find.
