Unfortunately little Coco didn’t seem to be interested to lay on it. I bought it for my daughters dog. She thought it too rubbery so put a thin blanket over it. That was better Coco.

Just What Our Dog Needed To Stay Cool When It Is Too Hot
My husband and I recently took a fabulous weekend trip during our most recent âheatwaveâ. It was a fabulous trip, with one exceptionâ¦our dog kept overheating. Our AirBnB was very warm inside, probably due to underfloor heating the host had forgotten to turn off. Plus, the walls seemed to retain the heat from the sun, so we had to use the fans.However, the fans didnât really seem to be enough to cool off our dog so he could sleep at night. He gets hot easily anyway, he is a shepherd mix and black. So, his heavy black fur coat keeps him too warm at times. That is why I ordered this; I want him to be comfortable.This pad seems to do the trick. It is very cool to the touch, and has a cushiony feel. When it first arrived, I almost laughed. It was rolled, but looked small. However, when I unfolded it, I was impressed by the size. It is a lot larger than it looks, and is actually the exact same size as our dog’s bed.This cooling pad is fabulous, it truly does cool our dog off and he loves laying on it. We are planning another getaway to the same place, we enjoyed it that much. This time, we will be prepared. This pad can easily be packed into the luggage to take with us. And it can even be made ultra cold by popping it into the fridge or freezer if needed.We are very happy with the quality and performance of this cooling pad. It actually works better than I expected it to.

Good Quality and Cold
Typically, the temp has dropped from the lovely heat we had last week, so this is just an interim review until the temp goes up again and I will add more.First impressions – Nice and thick. Seems good quality plastic/vinyl unsure but feels nice and appears sturdy enough that unless a dog/cat scratches it a lot, it will not tear with animal just going onto it.The second thing is how cold it is – now over the years I have bought many, many cool mats for both dogs and myself, and I can only think of one other I bought quite a few years ago that felt as cold as this one.As my dog didn’t want to try it as she wasn’t hot but I was I put it behind my back and boy did it feel good. The coldness really came through my clothes and cooled me down and it was very comfortable to lean on. The only thing was I forgot to time how long it took to warm up, but either next time I feel too hot or if hot enough for my dog to use, I will time this.How long will it be till Gell evaporates? Only time will tell – some last one year, others 2-3 years, but it feels like it might last a few years as a lot of gel is inside – I have found the more gel, the slower it evaporates. Is it gel not sure what it is but it feels like some type of gel. Size is fine for a small dog – my girl is 9.5kg.My dog enjoys lying on comfortable things, so I cannot see her refusing to lie on it when she is hot enough but as said at beginning I will update once temps rise and she actually uses it as she does love lying on cool mats when its hot and because of this I have quite few but had not bought this brand before so when they become warm I can change them and let used mat cool down again.

Expensive but effective cooling mat – perfect for dogs that struggle with heat
My bully is prone to overheating but hates being cold, so I have found that getting small cooling mats so only part of her body is on the mat is the best solution.This mat is small. I know the measurements are included and very visible, but I was a bit taken aback at the smallness, especially at the cost of £17.99.Although my dog is supervised when using a cooling mat, it is very reassuring that the mat contains non-toxic gel.The material is very easy to wipe down. I really like this about the mat, as it ensures that I can keep it clean and safe for my dogs’ usage.My bully breed has scratched this mat a good couple of times and thrown herself down onto the mat without any punctures or leaks, so I am quite impressed at the durability of the material.I think my favourite thing is the unique design; it was so nice to see a dog cooling mat with a cute design rather than the standard boring colours.I must say that I found the price to be a bit expensive for such a small mat. But I am also impressed with the mat and how it provides a safe, cooling experience that doesn’t require freezing or refrigeration, recharges and actually provides a very good effective cooling.I think the price is higher due to the fantastic elements of non-toxic gel, reinforced material, the design of the mat, effectiveness, etc. Although I think the price is expensive, I do think the mat based on my current experience. and possible durability is worth it.

Effective but only if your dog chooses to lay on the Very Thin pad
This cooling âpadâ is like a giant version of those first aid cooling gel packs. Itâs heavy at 2.6kg and mine was slightly undersized at 59cm x 89cm.The main drawback is that itâs very thin at only 5mm thick, so offers very little cushioning. My dog really wasnât a fan and refuses to lay on it.The cooling is undoubtedly effective as works by absorbing the dogs heat into the gel that is at ambient temperature. It requires your dog to be in direct contact so you canât add any cushioning on top of the pad or it will loose its effectiveness.Note: Once the gel within the pad reaches the same temperature as your dogâs body temperature it will no longer offer any cooling.
