Height adjustable sturdy stand and great image quality
I can’t fault this monitor, for the deal price it is a great value USB-C monitor. It thicks all my boxes for a work monitor, I bought it for my 2014 Mac Mini that I plan to upgrade to the new one with USB-C.Pros: Great looking, height adjustable robust stand, the screen doesn’t shake much. Decent image quality thanks to the IPS panel and pixel density is ideal for the 27″ screen. The monitor features narrow bezels and very effective anti reflection layer too. Setup needs no tools and is very easy, you also get all the cables (DP, HDMI, USB to USB-C, European and UK power plugs). The cables look ok quality. The default brightness is way too much to my taste but you get 7 “Smart Image” presets such as Office, Photo, Game, Economy or Low Blue mode.It only takes about 2s for the monitor to wake up when it comes back from standby mode that is nice. It can’t beat my Apple Thunderbolt display that’s instantly on but they are not in the same league I guess. The on-screen adjustment is easy to use and quite detailed with tactile buttons under the monitor.I don’t have a USB-C device yet so I couldn’t test the USB hub to date. I really like that the monitor senses when you are away from the screen and turns it off and the wiret network connection on the USB hub is also unique.Cons: forget about the speakers, it’s worse than a cheap laptop. 🙂 I haven’t really found anything else, I think it’s a fantastic monitor.

Great monitor for MacBooks. Has all you need where others do not.
We have been looking for a USB C monitor for sometime. We already have a very good Dell 24 inch monitor which I think is very good but only HD resolution. For our second MacBook Pro we wanted a 27 inch monitor and therefore wanted to go up to QHD resolution. We tried a number of monitors including is Viewsonic and Dell. The Dell had a load of broken pixels and was useless and the ViewSonic whilst USB C did not have any USB ports to connect peripherals. This Phillips monitor has a height adjustable stand and two USB port (3.1) to connect WebCams et cetera.I was a little concerned on opening the box that the USB C cable was a USB C to USB 3.1 but there was actually a cover over the end of it which is quite ingenious. The power is great as there is not an additional power block so it is just a standard kettle plug adapter. My only gripe is that the base of the stand is very large. It takes up quite a lot of space on the desk so you cannot push it dead flat against the wall. But that is literally a minor irritation to an otherwise great monitor. The monitor comes with a display port cable and HDMI cable a European plug and a UK plug and the clever USB C cable Iâve already mentioned. The monitor also has built-in speakers which are 2W. They are quickly recognised by the MacBook and work fine for video calls et cetera. Whilst we use Logic pro X we will use an external USB speaker that we bought from Amazon which has a bit more deepness to its tone.At £343 this is progressively dearer than the other two monitors we tried but as this has all of the things we needed (height adjustable, USB ports USB hub, a USB C connection and speakers) itâs good value for moneyAt time of writing I havenât checked how long the warranty is but Iâm hoping itâs a decent three years

Perfect monitor
I am really liking the display monitor with a visual delight which followed an unpacking delight when I came across all 3 different cables supplied for connection..what a great bonus that was and thats good PR from the manufacturer i presume. I am very happy.

Good value office monitor
For the price I am quite impressed. Solid and well made, size and pixel density ideal for me, text and XLS are crisp and it has a 0.6 cm thin screen bezel. I looked at 4K ones but the text was too small, here text is a bit larger than my old 24inch Ilyama and a lot clearer and brighter. I need to play around with the resolution for a few days to find the best setting with my (old) video card. The nice and solid stand goes up/down, tilts and swivels up through 90°, plus it just clips in. I got euro and uk pwr leads, 2 HDMI cables, a USB and a USC too. My main gripe is the terrible sound from the very poor built in speakers…even my phone is better.

Would have been 5/5 but stopped working!
When the Philips 243B9-24 Inch FHD Monitor,75Hz, 4ms, IPS, USB-C Dock, Height Adjust, Speakers etc etc arrived, I was chuffed – it was brilliant. Set up really easy with the direct USBC input from my iMac into the monitor, recognised, excellent. Screen is good quality and it was a joy to be able to adjust the height and angle. Perfect as a second monitor for my film and music editing – picture quality really good as a second monitor. Even watched the odd film whilst working on other things.BUT roll on a couple of months and the monitor green outs and cuts my computer dead. Worrying. Then the power cable is a little loose so having to push back in – which results in some very unpleasant connecting noises (electrics not great) – then today the monitor decides it doesn’t recognise any video input at all. And the screen goes blank. The power needs to be pushed to one side to get the screen to work, but again no video recognition. Tried different cables, different machines, but no avail. I am not going to try and force the power cable to one side to make it work as the noises do not fill me with confidence and it could be dangerous! Bare in mind I have not moved my monitor or treated it roughly in anyway for these events to happen, its just been sat there doing a pretty good job up until now.It is passed its Amazon return date by a few months – so I have been onto Amazon who are trying to contact Phillips I believe, although it didn’t make much sense. They will call back on Monday with hopefully a solution.I would have happily given this product a 5/5 at the beginning, as it was working great and did exactly what I wanted, with some super easy features. I may well have got a duff one and others might be superb – but I am not running the risk of turning it on again for safety reasons now. I really hoped this is resolved by Philips when they are contacted as I could do with it up and running!
