Breathtakingly Awesome Sound if you love Bass, you will also love these.
I really wanted to upgrade to some new Headphones, I owned some Pioneer DJ Headphones that were around 10-12 Years old & these looked like a Nice Upgrade. My Old Headphones still worked good, although the Foam padding was aged. I ordered these from Amazon & they was also the best price I could find online. I got the parcel & couldn’t wait to see how good they sounded. At first, I checked them over for any marks or scratches & they was the perfect build quality & control. They had a nice weight to them and felt good in the hand with the Metal Finishing, they should also stay on my head, especially as I might use them Cycling, the grip is slightly firm which is also good for Cycling, but, the Grip should also loosen up a bit after some use.I like to listen to Trance Music, sometimes Vocal, this can be very Bassy with lots of high Trebles and I do love Bass & high notes.1st Impression is just Pure amazing sound. The Bass is very powerful and you can really feel it. You can also hear the different bass levels from the Drums and some really good mid and treble vocals without any distortion. I was using a little mini media player and you can also alter some settings and add a Bass Boost, which I did, which gave even more Thumping to the Bass. Some people may say it is Too much Bass, so you could always alter the Equalizer settings a bit. I did listen to a few tracks and at one point, managed to get goosebumps on my arms and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, I could really feel the energy from the music & the quality of the sound managed to do this. I can’t compare these to any other Brand of Headphones in this price bracket, as I don’t own others except cheaper ones which sound naff compared to these. The current retail price is around £180, which I think is justified, the quality of these in your hand and they should also last for many Years. The Sound quality is amazing, I did listen to some tracks for a few minutes and had the volume up quite high. I can feel my eardrums also had a workout too. I am sure after a long period at these levels you can do some serious damage to your ear drums and hearing. Turning the volume down to safe levels, you can just feel the quality in the sound. Would I recommend these, of course I would. You really need to appreciate the quality of these and the metal finish in parts as well. As above, these Headphones are Very Bassy with no Distortion, if you need a Bass & Subwoofer fix from the old days, these are perfect too. Just go easy or your Hearing might get damaged, seriously they are that good. I also said I might use them for Cycling, the problem with this is I felt the music sounded just too good with these, you could easily get distracted into it and have an accident. The quality of the sound just immerses you into another level. I do currently use cheaper headphones for cycling, so these wouldn’t make a comparison to them. But, if they was compared, these are Mind Blowingly good and you can take my word for it. I have been listening to Trance & Music for 30+ Years.

Quality build and superb sound – what you’d expect of Pioneer!
The clarity of sound is superb, with the ability to discern many of the frequencies you need for DJing as well as being very comfortable to wear for long periods. And, the build quality and their ability to fold and store them in a special pouch (provided) means that they will last for a long time to come. Money very well spent and a happy customer!

    Fantastic sound
I have had Hd25s for years and been happy. I thought this time I’ll take a punt at around about the same price, well maybe a little more. But wow the music just sounds alive in comparison. Hope this review helps push you over the edge as they are great.

Pioneer are the kings of dj headphones
I’ve tried loads of different ones over the years including senhiesers, technics, Sony and the only ones that last for years without buying new wires or pads are pioneers. These are the best so far I’ve had in their collection probably cause my last pair lasted 8 years. Buy them you won’t be disappointed awesome sound and comfort

Good for a DJ, not for music listening
Absolutely fine for their intended purpose, loud, durable and excellent maneuverability with the added benefit of a removable cable. But I would not recommend them for music listening, even for previewing tracks to build playlists I find the sound way too boomy, and generally unpleasant. On the wholel they look fantastic, are very comfortable but in my opinion I would expect a better sound for thier cost.

    Solid build, great sound.
The step up from the HDJ-X5 is worth the money, dependant on use.If your about sound quality for use as normal headphones these are worth the extra.Great build, I’ve used technics in the past which were solid, these are better. No doubt will last a long time.

These headphones are a relatively new line of upgrades to the previous one which was highly praised by DJsThe sound quality, as long as using a good DAC is outstanding with a wide space. There is no software, and not even a microphone. They cost more than the best (probably) gaming headsets some of which are very good. These are simply in a different class where proffessional DJs and sound mixers need to pick up all the little sounds that would usually be missed. Also the volume will literally make you deaf at max, I tried for a second and wow, no distortion. The one thing to watch out for if using for games (as I am) is that the onboard sound of even top level motherboards just doesn’t do them justice. Additionally they cannot push out enough voltage/power to play loud without distortion.I recommend, with the caveat that an external DAC, should be used to get the most out of them. You will not be dissapointed!
