Blimey! This is fiddly, especially with doors that are right next to a 90 degree wall, which most hotel rooms have. You need to use your fingertips in that case to hold the metal plate whilst you close the door.It ought to fit most doors. However, I can’t say I feel extra secure when it is in place because it relies on the little plastic wedge to prevent the door from being opened and if that somehow falls out or is not fitted in properly, then the lock is useless.If it is all fitted correctly, then yes, it is useful at providing an extra layer of protection against unwanted or unannounced guests.

This is a clever and simple device that you can use in hotel rooms to stop staff entering expectedly.My husband travels a lot and has a habit of leaving the bathroom door open and recently, a cleaner came in whilst he was in there ðð¤£.So, I got him these so he can use the bathroom in peace! ð¤£Having tried it, they are a little fiddly to get on the first time, but with practice it gets easier. To clarity, I got the double pack, but you only need to use one per door.Such a simple thing that can save a whole lot of embarrassment! 5*

Good way to secure a room without a lock
This portable lock allows you to lock any doors with the rotating type handles without needing to make any permanent changes. It has 2 different ways to attach into the door, one I found was rather generic and should work everywhere. The other side is meant to be held in place better, but only works for a very small number of doors that I tried.Once attached it is very easy to keep in place and very stable. I didnât try too hard, but it felt like you would have to break down the door before you can actually manage to open it.It was a little bit of a challenge to be able to attach it for the first few times. However this got easier after that. So far it did not work on my home doors
I have tried it on a couple of my home doors but the clipping plate is designed for a deeper and larger door bolt housing then the one I have.Shall take it with me on a couple of holidays planned for the end of the year. The lock seems strong and the £10 is surely reasonable. But time shall tell on how versatile this is once tested on a larger door sample

Ingenious!
This is such a clever idea. The stainless steel plate can be lodged in the latch hole of the striker plate and thus when the door is closed on it, the plate is firmly held in place. The stainless steel plate is reversible to accommodate different sizes of latch or bolt holes.The V- shaped wedge has a sliding stud on the reverse which fits into one of the two triangular cut outs in the stainless steel plate. Then the V-shape can be wedged against the door. Ingenious.Considering the forces and the fittings involved I would also think it must be stronger than a conventional door safety chain. My only problem with this to date is the amount of steel plate that protrudes at either end. It has been slightly too long for several doors I have tried it on. I am considering shaving an eighth of inch off each end to let it fit more doors. The depth of metal does make a contribution to the strength of the system, but it is minimal.To force open a door secured by a safety chain pulls screws out of the woodwork. Opening a door secured with this Door Locker would mean demolishing the door frame. I can only repeat “Ingenious”.
