I needed a cable with a 3.5mm jack plug at either end so, when the ‘Replacement Cable for A40 astro Inline Mute Cord 3.5mm Audio Extension Cord (2m)’ came onto the Vine program, I thought it would be an ideal item to review.I used the cable as a way of listening to a guitar effects box (see pic) through a speaker instead of headphones.One of the 3.5mm jack plugs seems slightly bigger than the other and doesn’t quite fit in either the FX box or the speaker input (see pic) but it still works perfectly well. The mute button works well enough (or I could just stop playing…) and the sound quality is comparable to another cable I have that I had to fit an adapter to.I have seen a couple of really negative reviews which I don’t understand – I have had this for a while, it seems durable and is still going strong. Maybe it doesn’t work so well on gaming headsets or headphones – but it works for me.

Works very well
This cable works perfectly with my Astro A40s. The cable is nicely braided and has a good amount of flexibility, the connectors fit well and they have rubberised pieces where they connect to the cable which should help to stop the cable from breaking.Sound quality is perfect, identical to the original cable.There’s an in-line mute switch, it’s located at a good place near the top of the cable and it works well.No complaints at all from me, well priced, good performance, all good.
