1 year later and still works perfect. cable is mid-long and the colours still show up nice and bright. keys are perfect. once i dropped the keyboard and two keys fell off but stuck right back on when i tried and have had no issues with them coming back off.

The keyboard functions perfectly for the under £20 price point, it’s decent for typing and adequately responsive for casual gaming which again given the price point is good value. As I live in Scotland I specifically brought this RK100 keyboard because of the UK/EU layout. I like the minimalist design where it only takes up the amount of space it actually needs and looks rather sleek, it has little flex and a nice weight to it that gives it a quality feel.I like the keyboard and thus would like to note a couple of minor improvements that can be made, one thing I noticed is that some of the lettering and numbers are off centre (excluding the WASD keys as they were obviously by design) and so improvement on accuracy there is something that might bother those with OCD, while I personally consider it a somewhat minor issue as functionality is more important to me personally, it is a little bit of let down for what is otherwise an excellent value keyboard, a 2nd suggestion would be to add a yen/yuan Â¥ currency symbol as they are also major currencies. A last thing, while it might be hard to tell in some of the photos, yes the lettering is lit up, and it is definately bright enough, you need only press FN+PageUp to increase brightness and FN+PageDown to decrease brightness.

Does the job
I needed a backlit keyboard as the letters/symbols had rubbed off my old one and I use it in a dark room. I also like the chunky old fashioned keys, so you actually know when you hit them. The key action is nice and not noisy for this kind of keyboard. It’s cheap and basic but does what I want. Job done. More light spills out from around the keys than through the symbols on the keys, as you can see in the image, but it looks cool when the light is on and I can see the symbols so that’s fine.

Remarkably average, which for me is perfect
So I want to start by saying I did not get this intending for it to be a “pro-gaming” keyboard, because it clearly isn’t that. If you wanted that you will be disappointed. However, it’s a great keyboard for people who use their computer casually, like if they spend a lot of time talking to friends online and stuff like that.Pros- Design is smooth and feels good to type on it compared to other keyboards of a similar price (which is precisely the reason I got that keyboard, because my last keyboard was unbearable to use). I don’t get why people are saying it feels stiff, it doesn’t. Soft, but not stiff. Heck, my keyboard didn’t even have the issue with the enter key people keep bringing up (is there multiple versions or something?).- A bit of an odd one, but I like the sound it makes. While nowhere near mechanical keyboard level, the sound it makes is oddly pleasing to me. It might just be a “me” thing though.- Surprisingly compact for a full-size keyboard. I kid you not, I could put this in my bag and go to my grandma’s house and just pull it out with my laptop. Super convenient and I very much appreciate design like that.- Works perfectly fine. If you just want a keyboard that “works” then this is just what you need, my friends.Cons- Inconsistent lighting makes it awkward to tell what brightness setting to set it to. There doesn’t even seem to be a set theme with the brightest keys either, which makes this very odd to me.- The writing on the keys is also very inconsistent. This is very much a minor annoyance, but if you’re bothered by stuff like that, this keyboard might not be for you.- This might just be a problem with the one I got, but the cable at the back doesn’t fit properly with the hole, which got me very worried. I was able to fix it by holding it in place with some tape, but this could potentially be a big issue that you might want to look into.Overall this keyboard is very average. But for me, and hopefully some other people, that’s perfect. I didn’t mention anything relating to actual gaming keyboards, because I’ve never used an actual gaming keyboard. I’m a casual gamer. But if you, like me, just want an upgrade from a really bad cheap keyboard you’ve been using until you found it unbearable at a very low cost, this is the keyboard for you.
