Great Security Camera, But Could Use a Few Improvements
The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is a solid outdoor security camera that delivers reliable performance. The HDR video quality is great for capturing clear footage, even in low light, and the 3D motion detection feature is a real standout, helping to reduce false alerts by accurately tracking movement in and around your property. The floodlights are bright and provide excellent illumination, which is perfect for night-time security. However, there are a couple of things I wish were different. First, Iâd love if Ring offered 24/7 recording as a default option, rather than just motion-triggered recordings. This would provide more comprehensive coverage and peace of mind. Secondly, while the video quality is good, thereâs always room for improvement. The visuals can be clearer, especially in certain lighting conditions or at longer distances.Overall, the Ring Floodlight Cam is a great addition to your home security setup. Itâs reliable, easy to install, and does the job well, but with a few tweaks to its recording options and video clarity, it could be even better.

Simple and effective
So easy to set up and incorporate with the app. Great price for what they do. Light is decent enough to use as an outside light and can be manually switched on. Perfect

Flood lights are not as powerful as the gen 1 version – very disapointed!
We have both the gen 1 and gen 2 ring floodlight cameras. I was disapointed with the picture quality of the gen 1 so had high hopes the new model would be better. It is better in some ways but not all. Firstly picture quality is an improvement and I like the new features. I’m in full agreement regarding other reviewers positive comments about the camera, so won’t both repeating the same points here. However the gen 2 unit is seriously let down by the lack of light output. Our first gen camera is very bright, lighting our outdoor space very well. The new one is very poor in comparison, it’s a much warmer light but just doesn’t have the punch of the first gen one. You can dim it down, but full output is already lacking so much I can’t begin to imagine why you’d want to use the dimmer function!Such a shame considering how bright the gen 1 flood is! I did have much higher expectations considering the value of the unit! We should have saved the extra money and bought another gen 1!If you want to use it as a floodlight (as the name suggests) as well as a security camera, you may want to consider the earlier model – which is let down by its inferior picture quality!Either way, both models are flawed. If you could combine the gen 2 camera with the gen 1 flood light you’d have a product that actually does what it says on the tin!
