I think the review of this card by Mr Plonis is unfair and hope he will amend it.I bought the 8GB card for my SE k800i phone. I was a little worried after reading his review but it was such a good price and the other comment here made me think it would be OK.In fact when I installed the card the phone only registered it as having approx 3.5GB and I panicked a little.I then viewed the card through the USB connection between the phone and my computer and could then see it as an 8GB card. So no problem with the card then!A bit of research on the web confirmed my suspicion that it was the phone to blame rather than the memory card.I think I can upgrade the firmware for the phone and so will give that a try.It is wrong to blame the memory supplier for the way in which the phone is configured.The SE web site does say that 4GB is the maximum card size supported for the k800i phone at the time it was first released.I have read elsewhere that people have the phone working with the 8GB card after upgrading to firmware version R1JG001.The memory card arrived swiftly and was well packaged. It also had an adaptor for to allow it to fit in some previous Sony proprietary card slot. I do wish Sony would use standard SD cards.

I was not sure if an 8gb card would work with my Sony Ericsson K550i as I had read that this phone would only take a 2gb card, however I decided to risk it. After loading my shrunk MP3 files onto the card(see Shrink My Tunes in software) I plugged the card into my mobile and lo and behold all 200 CDs were listed. Even plenty of room to spare. Who needs a walkman with this capacity on a mobile.

Value for Money!
Ordered this for my Sony Ericsson W90i phone. I prefer storing and listening to my music as the sony erricson has unique sound! This is definitely value for money! Compared to High street prices this is an absolute must. Works well stores my music. Only issue i have is that this sometimes freezes so not sure if it is caused by the phone or the memory card but all I have to do is restart the phone it its good to go!a must if you want to save!

If you want to use it as a memory stick (as opposed to a card in your smartphone etc) it’s pretty slow. I however used it in an oldish Sony Erisson and it just stored 6-8 GB of music etc fine for me! Recommended. (SanDisk rule!)

Ich habe die 8GB Speicherkarte nun seit 2 Wochen und verwende sie in meiner Sony PSP (PHAT). (Zusätzlicher Adapter auf Pro DUO notwendig!)Die vom Hersteller angegeben Geschwindigkeiten werden übrigens problemlos erreicht.Meine Messwerte (Herstellerangaben):Lesen – 11,19 MB/s (10 MB/s)Schreiben – 3,17 MB/s ( 3 MB/s)Auch gibt der Hersteller SanDisk an, dass er seine 8GB nicht mit dem binären sondern mit dem decimalen System berechnet. Daher zeigt das Betriebssystem nur 7,44GB statt 8GB an.

Der “San Disk Memory Stick M2” mit 8 GB wird in einem ProDuo Adapter geliefert (nicht zu verwechseln mit dem normalen SDHC Speicherkarten-Format für PCs).Von meinem Handy Sony Ericsson C 905, Baujahr 2009 wurde die Karte sofort erkannt, automatisch mit der auf diesem Handy üblichen Ordner-Struktur versehen und mit einer freien Kapazität von 7,5 GB ausgewiesen. Insofern gilt hier wirklich Plug & Play. Fotos und mp3-Dateien konnten mit dem PC als Zwischenstation unter Beachtung, ggf. Anlegung einer gleichartigen Ordnerstruktur problemlos von der bisherigen auf die neue Karte übertragen werden.Für die direkte, handylose Daten-Ãbertragung zwischen Speicherkarte und PC ist der Sony Ericsson CCR-70 M2-USB Adapter zu empfehlen, der bei mir bereits im Lieferumfang des C 905 Handys enthalten war. Den Adapter mit eingesteckter M2-Karte in den bereits hochgefahrenen (Windows XP) PC eingesteckt, wird die Karte sofort als externes Laufwerk erkannt. Wird der PC mit eingestecktem Adapter und M2-Karte hingegen erst eingeschaltet und hochgefahren, kann es beim Booten Probleme geben, da die Karte vom Handy scheinbar mit booting-aktiven Daten versehen wird, die einen bootenden PC in Verwirrung stürzen.

I bought this for mine or my wife’s phone, I can’t remember. Anyways, it was affordable, it works, and it gives you a lot of memory. Just assess what your needs are, if you want to store lots of applications/ music on your phone then get yourself a lot of memory, otherwise, you can spend less and get less memory. I have used SanDisk memory cards for awhile, they have always worked well so I continue to buy their products.In general, I think it doesn’t matter all that much which company you choose to buy memory cards from; it’s like buying bottled water, they are all the same, so whatever gives you piece of mind, stick with that one.
