Good price, nice size. Fast in use and handy capacity. The metal finish is robust and feels almost silky to the touch. Fits neatly into usb slots on front on my mini PC alongside a wifi dongle for a keyboard and those on the reat of another SFF PC which are so close together that they are a very tight or impossible squeeze for other more substantial plastic shelled memory sticks which I have.

Gets warm, damn fast, great live OS stick
On a USB 3.0 port, it reads at just over 400 MB/s, and writes at just over 100 MB/s. Writing Ubuntu Linux 24.04 full desktop (6.1 GB) took about 50s to write using Etcher. [Most USB3 memory sticks are nowhere near as fast.] For a live installation it boots fast, almost tolerably! It does get warm in use, but not excessively so.The unit is a tight fit mechanically, with nothing on its surface to enhance grip. Care is de rigeur when inserting or removing the drive.

As always, high-quality product from SanDisk. I was a loyal customer of this brand for many, many years. Maybe there is something like… I don’t remember if I had it with the previous ones, but this one… It does get warmish, but not hot, when you write stuff on it. And when I work on it from my computer and when I press SAVE, it takes a few seconds… Computer freezes for a few seconds when it saves it. So if I have to press SAVE often enough, it can be quite inconvenient. So I sometimes just choose to work on files saved on my computer and then save the final files onto the USB, instead of working with the files directly on the USB itself. Other than that, it’s a high-quality product, and I’m quite happy.

It’s a good drive, compact and all, but there is no shroud around the actual drive (its flush with the port) so sometimes it can be hard to pull out. Additionally, since the drive is fully metal outside, when doing data transfers it gets toasty on the outside. Pretty sure this is intentional to keep the actual controller and chips from overheating, but it can be enough to make you flinch if its constantly in use for a few minutes. But performance and price wise its really great.

Not necessarily the best bang for your buck, but they’re beautifully designed and very rugged. They get hot while in use, but that’s normal for an all metal design stick like this.
