Large hard drive
Does what I needed to. I wanted a large hard drive as a backup for my documents. Arrived promptly with great packaging and works out the box as expected. Good build quality and relatively quiet for its size, though not going to be functionally portable given its size but good around the office/home and can be transported if required. Seagate has a good reputation for reliability so should be good for its purpose.Tldr: Good if you need a large portable hard drive

Perfect for Apple Time Machine back-ups, and much quieter than my previous Seagate drive.
I was hesitating whether or not to buy another Seagate hard drive. My old one had been really noisy for quite a long time now, but the price for 8TB was irresistible compared to other alternatives. Also, my previous Seagate hard drive lasted for 7 years of hourly incremental Apple Time Machine back-ups. I bought this for the same purpose, and I’m really impressed so far. It only took a few minutes to reformat the drive using the Apple disk utility. You need to do this if you want to use the disk for Time Machine back-ups. My first full back-up took 2 to 3 hours. After that, hourly incremental back-ups are now only taking a few minutes. Before they used to take over an hour, so the next one was started before the previous one had finished. This disk is less than half the noise volume of my previous one, in terms of noisy disk spinning and chuntering. I now barely notice a back-up is being performed. This is a really nice sleek looking compact unit too. You don’t have to place it vertically. If you want a well priced back-up disk for Time Machine, this one is perfect.

It’s a good drive, it has nice slim design and it’s soft to the touch. I’m getting about 100Mbps write speeds.The LED light on this drive is very subtle so it’s not disturbing at all.It certainly appears durable enough to move it around in a backpack but I’d be worried about dropping it etc. It’s not rugged so got to be careful.Initially this drive was disconnecting for me whilst copying files to it. I had to format it 3 times before this issue stopped making the initial set up far more crumber some than it should have been.Also, this drive will disconnect from your pc if you move it around too much but this is an issue with every drive of this type.Power consumption is low of this kind of drives so wouldn’t worry about it.I’ll probably buy more of these drives.

Achei o produto excelente pois formatou em NTFS (veio formatado como exFAT); como uso para fazer backup de muitos arquivos pesados precisou ser no formato NTFS que é compatível com o PC. Estou fazendo o backup plugando o HD através da USB 2.0, apesar de ter percebido que no USB 3.0 é muito mais rápido, porém para não dar problema de salvar os arquivos, prefiro fazer de forma mais lenta. O produto chegou muito rápido que esperava, adiantando em 5 dias úteis para receber. Até agora não deu nenhum erro das trilhas do HD e a capacidade dele me satisfez. Mais para frente quero comprar outro igual.
