Solid & Comfy set of cans.
I’ve been using these since last September. The sound produced is pretty much perfect for what I want from them. Some people claim they sound flat and don’t produce huge bass, that is (in my opinion at least) a good thing. For my somewhat variable hearing, these headphones are exactly what I want in terms of sound reproduction. I use them a lot for audio listening (voices over radio) and general music listening / film viewing. I have ‘phones with massive bass, and whilst that is sometimes a good thing, for voice audio it certainly isn’t.The high & mid tones are clear and punchy, allowing good voice definition. The bass is sufficiently powerful to give a solid, rounded sound and not overwhelm everything else and make it indistinct and mushy.Comfort-wise they fit my big, wide head and I can wear them comfortably for hours on end. The headband is fully adjustable and nicely padded, as are the earpads. They are fairly light too, despite being fairly large, further adding to the comfort during wearing. To give an idea, I wear for 3-5 hours per night (on average) whilst working and watching and so forth. The cable is a coiled type, and whilst probably fine for most uses (plugged into equipment decks, amps and what have you) I found it a bit too inflexible for my use plugged into my PC. More of an observation and not a criticism, if you were moving about with them then it keeps the cable tidy and out of the way preventing catching and snagging. So not worth a mark down in my opinion.Provided with a 1/4″ to 3.5mm down converter you can use them in any device with the appropriate socket.I like Sennheiser kit, and have owned multiple pairs over the years (and still do) and have always enjoyed using them and the sound they produce, and these are no different.Don’t expect massive, treacle-thick bass, if you do, you’ll be disappointed.Do expect a smooth yet rounded sound experience with what (so far) have proven to be a well made bit of hardware.

The best value and performance studio quality headphones
Simply superb. The best studio quality sound, flat eq, the best to mix and master with. They donât need playing in, they are perfect, detailed reproduction straight out of the box. Good for years of hard work as replacement pads are readily available and dead easy to fit yourself. Sennheisserâs got this model so right!

They don’t flatter they inform.
The Sennheiser HD 280 PROs has been around for a good while and have a strong reputation for monitoring headphones. They don’t flatter they inform. i.e. they have a neutral but accurate sound which is exactly what you need from monitoring headphones when playing instruments or sound mixing etc etc. Some prefer a more sturdy design but Sennheiser have kept these light so you don’t notice wearing them in use. Not the flashiest design but very functional in a good way. Got mine for a bargain price on resale. Recommended.

Sound Great – plastic finish – cable not well isolated
I got this as an alternative the the Sony MDR-7506/1 that I use in the studio as monitor headphones, for the same purpose. My first impression was they are very plasticy in comparison although still sturdy. Putting them on, comfortable ear padding but hard to adjust the top well, it has two pads that sit atop the head, but the top is a springy plastic and in practice they flex apart so much that the plastin onbetween actually rests on my head. Second impression any touch of the lead couples loudly in to the left headphone and even if it just rubs on clothes – very loud! In terms of the sound quality, they seem very good for a closed headphone – a little more bass than the sony, clear and pleasant.I use them for about an hour at a time, pretty good and comfortable for that period but they would have been great with more attention to detail. A bit disapointed!

Great for an autistic busgoer. Amazing noise isolation and sound quality
I realise I’m very outside the target audience as an autistic person. I got these purely for the noise isolation (of which is excellent) because I’m sick of public transport noise but still want to listen to music.I can barely hear myself talk. Other people, the announcements and the bus engine are reduced to a rumble or vague noise in the background. The sound quality is excellent, I’m discovering new depths to my songs. I personally prefer my logitech G pro X as the sound feels just a bit “mushy” on the Sennheisers (and I’m just used to the Logitechs). Could be because I’m usually audio streaming though. The headphones themselves are light but dragged down (sometimes literally) by quite a heavy and thick wire, especially for moving around. I guess it’s fine if you’re just using these in a studio. Will take some getting used to. Would literally kill for a Bluetooth version of these headphones. They’re comfortable and don’t squeeze your head too tight. Overall no complaints.Only thing, because of the volume these can go I’d recommend a volume limiter if you’re using these on a smartphone.

Authentic quality sound reproduction from a pair of Sennheiser HD 25 Special Edition headphones
If what you are keen to experience is an authentic representation of recorded music – that is, without artificially boosting certain frequency ranges to suit individual tastes – then headphones don’t come much better than Sennheiser. Full disclosure: as somebody who has relied on Sennheiser headphones for all of my adult life – starting off with a pair of HD414s which I still have – I suppose that you could describe me as a devotee of Sennheiser’s headphones: this is because I want to hear the sound being reproduced as faithfully as it was recorded. I bought these headphones for use with my computer, which is connected to a Bose Companion 5 Multimedia speaker system, incorporating a powered subwoofer. It is surprising how close these headphones come to delivering the music reproduced with as much of the full-bodied quality sound as is routinely achieved by my computer’s Bose speaker system. And given that Amazon was offering these for sale at a discount of some fifty pounds sterling, this was a Christmas present that I simply couldn’t resist. They arrived this afternoon, and now that I have heard them, I’m glad that I didn’t!
