The Y shaped long lens support screws onto the 15mm rod clamp to the long telephone lens while shooting.

Simple and effective lens support
Beautifully manufactured support. I use it on my rod setup to support some of my heavier glass and it works well. Easy to deploy and very quick to adjust when switching over lenses. Theres a rubber grip on the adjustable support that reduces stress on the lens mounts and removes any slight lens movement when using with a follow focus system.

I use this to support a macro lens on a mobile rig with flash and reflectors. It supports the lens perfectly and has the advantage that it runs on and clamps both tubes so if you have anything produce in a lot of torque, this makes it all that bit stronger.

Can’t beat it for Value
I have a similar product from Shape, which was about 3x the price, the SmallRig product is actually easier to use as you don’t need an Allen Key, the build quality isn’t quite as good as the Shape, but for the money, yu really can’t argue.

A necessity for longer lenses
This is vital especially if you have a small bodied camera. You have a fairly heavy longer lens and it needs support as the strain on the lens mount of the camera can be considerable, This inexpensive accessory relieves that pressure and can freely slide along the runners to the near front of the lens as you have to leave enough room for the follow focus . It is extremely well made and light.

A robust support which is overpriced and badly designed
I often shoot using large 200-600mm lenses and so a lens support was necessary. Because 99% of my rig is SmallRig I figured I’d get the native lens support. While I like the overall design and it’s pretty user friendly, I found it a little annoying that, unless fully extended, the supporting up will hang down quite far at the front. which means that if you’re resting the camera on a surface, the whole rig will be resting on that lower point; making it unstable and wobbly.
