Great use of money but it nearly shattered my system
So when I bought it I plugged it in and I thought it was a real good spend of money because it felt expensive and it’s casing is aliminium which sounded great. I decided to move a couple games to the drive but as I added them, the windows explorer all froze up at 3%, and the window was fully stuck open. Task manager not working, not anything. But then strange things were happening. The start menu wasn’t opening, I coulden’t open another file explorer window, I coulden’t even use CTRL+ALT+DEL. So I used logic and force reset the PC, during boot it took a while on a single part of the boot and I actually thought for a moment that the drive completely erased the operating system, luckely that wasen’t the case because after around 1 minute it actually continued booting. But during boot I see a message saying ‘No keyboard detected!’ I didn’t think much of it and moved on. When I got to the login screen my mouse OR keyboard didn’t work. I was getting scared because my computer was very expensive and I would loose it forever if it did break, given the recent coronavirus. I just decided to turn the computer and it’s power supply off for a good 20 minutes. So when I gathered the courage to turn it on again, I went for it. I turned it on and it booted up instantly, keyboard worked, including the mouse. Now i’m too scared to plug the thing back in again. But anyway, It was still fun for the 10 minutes I used it.

Great for ps4
Bought this for my son’s PS4 that had run out of storage. This was extremely easy to connect and use, been a lifesaver as it stopped him moaning!! Had it for 18 mths now and had no issues.

Cheap and slow
Very underwhelming, there are many people who have had their drives completely stop working after a period of weeks, mine is brand new and works, but works incredibly slow. It’s advertised here on amazon as having a capacity up to 5gb/s transfer speed, in actuality it will average a 15mb/s, on a good day! After testing it out for a few hours, on a usb 2.0 you’re looking at a speed of 5 – 7 mb/s, on a 3.0 averages about 10mb/s and on 3.1 High speed port it will build up to a high of 30mb/s and then stutter and drop to 7mb/s and repeat, averaging again at around 10mb/s. This is poor, very poor. If I spent £4 on Aliexpress for this I wouldn’t be surprised, but £40 for this with a likelihood that after waiting a month for my backup to be done, the drive will crash and lose all those files anyway, yeah.. It’s a massive waste of money, I would reccomend spending another £10-20 and get a WD elements or a SanDisk or Seagate, I have a wd elements and on the same device that I tested this sonnics on, the wd averages a speed of 120mb/s, with much more reliability in terms of longevity, if you are lucky enough to still be within the return window while reading this, return it, and put that £40 towards a reliable drive, if you’re even luckier to have not yet bought this, don’t. Simply, don’t.

Works great for Xbox One. Perfect size for me, but might not fit all
Use this for my Xbox One and it works great. Can run all games saved on it directly without needing to switch or transfer first.In terms of storage size, it’s ok if you don’t have a lot of triple A games which are massive now. I tend to have lots of arcade style games on there for couch coop, and stream the large single players mainly.If you have lots of large games then I would recommend a larger hard drive!

Very compact, good quality hard drive. Sonnics have great customer service should you need them but it’s unlikely you will. The transfer speed is good.

Necesitaba un disco duro, pequeño y barato para engancharlo a la tele y poder programar las grabaciones.Siendo sinceros buscaba el más barato que encontrara, ya que no necesito mucho espacio y que la caja fuera blanca pasaría inadvertido encima del mueble.La sorpresa fue cuando lo recibí, al abrir el paquete la carcasa del disco venia abierta, (adjunto foto) me esperaba lo peor, pero equivocado de mi, el disco lleva funcionando 1 mes casi 20h enchufado, descansa el disco cuando se apaga la tele.El disco que trae en su interior es un Seagate Momentus a 7200 (adjunto foto) una marca reconocida, me esperaba un disco “Ni Su” y 5400.Incluye cable usb 3.0 Micro-B, dando velocidades de escritura y lectura Excelente
