A Nice Portable Rack for a Home Network
This 4U rack is the basis for the home network that I’m setting up. I could have gotten away with the 2U rack that’s available from StarTech, but I may add some additional items later such as a power strip or firewall so I wanted a little room to add accessories.
The size of the rack is a blessing and a curse. I wanted something small, but it does greatly restrict what you can buy.
For example, I’ve purchased a 24 port Mikrotik switch for it which is only about 15cm deep. This is one of the only switches on the market that fits the rack. I can’t even fit the power cable at the back, but thankfully, this switch can be powered via POE from the front.
I wasn’t able to find any 24 port switches that offered POE. My advice is to buy a shallow switch that doesn’t have POE and then purchase POE injectors or an 8 port POE switch.
If you can work around it’s shallow depth, this is a great rack.
It’s easy to put up and is built to last. I decided not to use the two provided screws as they did not seem strong enough for plasterboard. Instead, I bought strong wall anchors that would give me better support.

Its a Hinged Wall Bracket
It is not mounted to a wall but it is a bracket … holds 1u 16 port patch panel no problems does what was needed… I wouldn’t try mounting a wall to it however I don’t think it would really support a wall and walls are usually freestanding

Fair 1U 19 inch hinged Wall bracket
I needed something to mount my 24 port patch panel in the attic and I didn’t think an expensive cabinet was needed, so this seemed to fit the bill. On arrival it only had 2 sets of screws and nuts (instead of 4) for attaching the patch panel. The nuts have clips that secure them into square holes at the front of the bracket body. I don’t know where you would source those particular clips so had to make do with loose nuts, which makes it a bit fiddly to attach the panel. Also one of the square holes was bent, which I straightend with pliers. Not entirely sure of the usefulness of the hinge as I found to do any work on the patch panel it was easier to remove it from the bracket completely. It did what I wanted, slightly disappointing though.

fast delivery and quality item.

Price was good, and wall mount is well built. I am using a 2U Wall mount with a 1U 24 port patch panel.
Hinge design allows easy access to back of patch panel for move or add of circuits.
A very good purchase.

Use washers when attaching to wall.
Big mistake: There are only 4 sets of mounting screws/nuts. Need 16 sets for 4 1U devices. Have to postpone finishing my install.

Good product but could be deeper in depth. Installed a DLink switch and the electrical cord was tight go threw the opening at the back.
